I like the whole quiet thing, but I'm trying to steer away from just plain old black or white (also it doesn't appear to have any ports or LED/temp up front which is what I want) I was going to recommend the Antec Sonata as well, or the Evercase 4252, but it doesn't have the bling bling you seem to want. Honestly, if you want LED/temp then I'd recommend going with a nice, quiet case like the Antec or Evercase and then adding a front panel display (my Chaintech MB came with one, very good LED temp display and a blinding blue LED so I no longer need lights to see. In my basement.) Both of those cases do have front panel connectors -- the Sonata has front USB, Firewire, and audio. Of course, if you still care about color then that's another issue.
For a PSU, it really depends on what you're going to have in the box. If you're going to do RAID then you want a bigger PSU. Otherwise you simply don't need a huge one. For RAID, look in the 380+ range. For non-RAID, 350 should be adequate. The big thing in either case is the 12V line -- cheap PSUs will skimp on it, delivering maybe 12A tops, which is barely enough for modern CPUs, much less drives, fans, and other devices. Of course, you want quiet, so that's a key factor as well. I seriously doubt you need anything close to 500W unless you're building a system that's going to host a lot of drives.
For quiet computing the best resource I've found is Silent PC Review -- http://www.silentpcreview.com/ . Good general info site with specific recomendations for quieter computing.

Cool, thanks Enahs. Guess I'll stick with CRT for now.
I was actually looking at that case before, Warpig. I like the whole quiet thing, but I'm trying to steer away from just plain old black or white (also it doesn't appear to have any ports or LED/temp up front which is what I want). Thanks for the recommend though.
Thanks for the comments as well, Kone.
Just saw this one on the Chenbro site.

Sweet. I think I'm going to go with one of the Chenbro cases as all the reviews are pretty glowing for them.
Thanks again. Hal

I've done a bit more research on LCD monitors and it's my understanding that 20ms monitors can be good for gaming. Anyone know for sure? No, That is only 50 FPS tops.
The best is 16ms, which is 62.5 FPS equivalent.
I have a 16ms one in a dual setup, and it sucks for gaming like FPS that is fast pace. As I said a few days ago and everyone yelled and disagreed (despite the fact that I am using both, and am judging by what I SEE). They are very good for lots of things and are really nice, but far from perfect!
If it is going to be your main/only monitor on the system, and you want to play games on it, NO!
But if you want one, take this warning.
If you get one over 17INCHES, as the technology stands now, it will either have good/high contrast for a LCD and poor speed performance, or good speed performance and less then great color contrast.

Anyone have good recommendations on QUIET pc cases and parts (power supply/fans). Also for a Power supply should I just go for the juice and grab a 480W or 500W PS or would 350W/400W pass muster? This is the case I bought in February and I have no real complaints.
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=140025
The 380W power supply seems to be plenty for the Athlon64 3400 / 9800XT system I put in it. I was also concerned that it might run hot since I only have the OEM heatsink and one fan, but the highest temp I've seen is 125F which is fine. Plus there is a place to put another fan, which I bought, but so far have left out to keep it running quieter.

I've used the server version of that Chenbro cases, it was pretty good. The Thermaltake internals are a step above when you're working with them I must admit, but unless you play inside your PC nonstop, it's not really worth the money. The only complaint I have about these cases is that they're monsters. If you ever move your computer, it's a pain. Aluminum makes it a little better, but again, it's much more expensive. I haven't used the Enermax.
As far as LCDs go, you really have to test them out for yourself. I've read many reviews saying LCDs are bad for movies and games, however comparing my LG L1810B (30ms IIRC) to my CRT side by side, the only thing I notice is that the LCD has much richer colour.

As long as they don't have 'Property of Halsy' embroidered on the crotch I think I will be okay. I don't want the whole package, just the left one. I'm sure I could eBay it for a new PC. The fact that he actually got tight leather pants too tight in the crotch is simply a sign from the powers that be that he should yield up his left nut to me. I get a new PC out of it, and he gets leather pants that fit. There's a certain poetry to it all.
Hey, speaking of PC's, I'm in the process of reviewing all the stuff I'll get when I finally spring for all my stuff (it'll be mid to late July when I take the plunge as I want PCI express everything), but meanwhile I could use a new PC case, fans and power supply. I was looking at Enermax's and Thermaltake's stuff so far and it looks good (although the Thermaltake cases are a bit tacky for my tastes). Anyone have good recommendations on QUIET pc cases and parts (power supply/fans). Also for a Power supply should I just go for the juice and grab a 480W or 500W PS or would 350W/400W pass muster?
I saw this Chenbro case and it looks pretty cool. http://www.chenbro.com.tw/Chenbro_Special/Special_gamingbomb.jsp
This Enermax case is cool too. I like the yellow one in particular (I used to own a TR6 that same color and it has the whole Yellow Submarine positive vibe). http://www.enermax.com.tw/products_cases2.php?Tid=2&gon=280&Gid=29&Gid2=18
I've done a bit more research on LCD monitors and it's my understanding that 20ms monitors can be good for gaming. Anyone know for sure? I'm looking at dropping 1000 or less (if possible) on an LCD if that's the case (if not I'll stick with CRT). Anyone have suggestions on a 20ms LCD (or if they're even worth it)?
Thanks Halsy

Don't they make a drink out of Mimosa trees? If my memory serves me correctly, they are kinda fruity, like margaritas. Champagne and OJ!
Was just going to ask Blue if he gave those dastardly trees a proper send-off with a couple of those
Besides, today is West Virginia Day! A cause for celebration! A day of drinking fruity cocktails and killing trees, if my American History serves (unless the trees actually came down yesterday, in which case one would rightfully be celebrating the Birthday of The Dutchess of Windsor. Of course, many trees would also perish).
