My 9700 pro just died so just in time to upgrade. I'm going with the X800 Pro. Okay so it only has 12 pipelines instead of 16, but my processor is not fast enough to warrent a 500 ultra or XT part. x800 pro rocks it runs FARCRY alot better then Nvidias cards do. So if that is any incication. Okay so we have trade offs- U will get better performance with a nivida card with DOOM 3 and u will get better performance with ATI and HL-2 -- Yeah something fishey is going on- I do think its getting silly that video game PC makers are taking sides and bribes$$$ as to who there favorite video cards are.. In the end im sure both cards will run both games fine in the end of it all. But interesting x800 has a new feature called 3dc whic will benefit half-life 2 image quality greatly. Okay ati does not have 3.0 pixel shader but remember just now 2.0 games are comin out. By the time 3.0 games are out there will be new cards out. err!!!
