I even have a Firefox extension that allows me to load a link in IE Yes, Valcor, head straight to the Extensions page and get Googlebar, Adblock and Launchy (the one complicity refers to). Then you may consider yourself a successful convert of the Blues News Browser Campaign. Welcome to the club!!

Don't think so. http://www.ritsumei.ac.jp/~akitaoka/ doesn't move at all. Looks like a static bunch of black yellow blue and white ovals arranged in a circular pattern. Doesn't have any optical illusions at all. Totally devoid of movement. He made up the one that moves. Maybe http://www.ritsumei.ac.jp/~akitaoka/ works for japanese people ...

However, the work payed off and my problem was finally solved. Ah, but the real question remains -- are you going to install Firefox now?
Firefox simply isn't vulnerable to these attacks. Who cares about popups now? There's enough blockers out there for most of them, and they work decently. But all of these vulnerabilities remain in IE regardless of what else you do. If you only surf to top end sites it's not too much of a pain (excepting the massive Flash ads, Flash popups, pre-load ads, etc), because they're not going to unleash some crap upon you, but who knows when you'll get a link to some slightly-less-than-reputable site?
I use Firefox for all my surfing. Yeah, I still have IE around -- I even have a Firefox extension that allows me to load a link in IE -- which I use about once every 2 months. But I don't have to worry about malicious programs, it has a ton more features, and is just as fast as IE. Really can't give enough praises for it.

Start->Accesories->System Tools->System Restore-->smacks head> hahaha, nice. The most obvious thing to try and nobocy suggested it, figures.
Now you need to figure out how your browser got hijacked in the first place and make sure not to go to that site/run that program again!
Glad you got it fixed.

First of all, everyone's suggestions have been great. Your generous help only reconfirmed my drive to work longer to get my Bluesnews homepage back! However, the solution was a bit elusive. It's now almost midnight, my fiance has been ignored and is now asleep. I have edited more registry files and poked around my system 32 files more than I ever care to repeat. Back in my less computer confident days (read: dorky), I would have never tried some of this stuff. However, the work payed off and my problem was finally solved.
Start->Accesories->System Tools->System Restore-->smacks head>
Ironically, in my less confident days, that would have been the first thing I tried.
Anyway thanks again, and if you get what seems be the widely feared "about:blank" hijack (even typing it brings an inane fear that it will come back), save yourself some time and do a system restore

My girlfriend read that the average male can ejaculate 2-4 inches. She also laughed at that statement because she considers it small.

DISCUSS. I dunno, it sounds kinda hard, in zero G(ok, so it aint really zero G).
You will keep pushing the lady away from you, while also pushing yourself away from her, or vice versa if she is in control/on top. But what is on top in space? You will need at least something to hold on/strapped around you so you stay in contact. And man, think about “completion” you could hit someone from across the entire space station/space ship….talk about watching out for stray “bullets”!!!
Probably not what you had in mind when you said discuss…

Nice article on FlavrSavr tomatoes. Good lead in to the June 6-9 Bio 2004 Annual Convention/Reclaim the Commons in San Francisco. (http://www.bio.org/events/2004/ http://www.indybay.org/globalization/#1949) It's gonna be a whole lot of fun ... what color pie would look teh best smeared over Brooke Shield's face? Anyone here got tips on the best gas masks for peaceful public demonstrations?
Sex is a personal matter between two or more participating people, unless they decide to make it public. Personally, I wouldn't travel to Mars if I couldn't have sex along the way, but no one's inviting me so who gives a fook what I think? From a legal perspective, I figure teh government would have right to limit people from having sexual congress while on the job and I think flying spaceships for the government is a full-time endeavor with free time regulated for national security concerns. Anyone nuts enough to fly non-recreational trips to mars probably wouldn't be too concerned with the loss of personal freedoms while on the voyage and could always opt out if they didn't agree with NASA's sexual prohibitions.
P.S. Thanks for the tips of dealing with Browser Hijackers. U Folks R always excellent.

'OH SWEET, can I please pay $3000 for a crappy video card just because it's in a steel case and was a preproduction model.'
O_O Holy crap! I didn't even look at the link until I read this. I have a preproduction voodoo 1 reference card and developer kit. I always assumed it was basically worthless, now I have to seriously wonder if some frea...err person would pay a stupid amount of money for it.
I think I'll keep an eye on that auction.

@Shadow
I've got Charter and haven't had any problems with it. The only thing(s) that bug me are the fact that it's only a 1.5 megabit (byte? I can never remember) line and has a really low upload cap. Not a problem if your gaming, but the low upload will bother you if you use just about any p2p software.
That's about all I can say, since Charter is the only cable internet available where I am (western mass). If only they'd offer more bandwidth
As for people having trouble with pop-ups, etc. c'mon now, get a real browser! Firefox, Opera, hell, use the Google toolbar for IE. Personally I'm an Opera fanboy and only use IE when absolutely necessary.

You should still keep a functional copy of IE around as some sites don't load properly in Firefox on my machines. Also, Windows Update if you're not allowing XP to do automatic updates.

Hmmmm...well, I'm sure that you could determine the "true" URL by viewing the source, but at this point it might be more trouble than it's worth.
Here's another vote for Firefox*.
