GPG RTS = Supreme Commander?

A search of the United States Patent and Trademark Office Website offers a clue about the possible title of the unnamed RTS game in the works at Gas Powered Games referenced in the story about the developer's new publishing deal with Electronic Arts (story). The site shows three trademarks belonging to GPG: The obvious pair of Gas Powered Games and Dungeon Siege, as well as the previously unreferenced "Supreme Commander." The trademark was registered November 7, 2003.

I believe he was referring to "text scrolling action", not text adventures.

No, I was indeed referring to text adventures. Back on this old thing:

Obviously the title has been in production a while. This looks to be the final box artwork!

Reminds me of the movie Being John Malkovich kinda...

I was wondering what text scrolling ACTION was.

That made me think of this:

http://www.mo.himolde.no/~knan/roguelike/105-2.png

Which is hosted here:

http://www.mo.himolde.no/~knan/roguelike/

From the author:

Welcome to B A L R O G

which aims to be a "complete" tome of information about the Roguelike Game phenomenon. To achieve that aim, I need help from YOU. If you know of a game that's not listed here but should be, please write! If you can enlighten me on the games listed under "rumoured", correct or add information to an existing entry, provide screenshots etc. please do so! If you feel the urge to write a detailed page for a game (out of altruism or something else), get in touch.

I think I cut my gaming teeth on these.

Other old school games that I can think of would be Hunt the Wumpus, Star Trek and Temple of Lolth, in general any ASCII games that didn't bother to redraw the screen between moves.

Kinda like what Spike Lee tried to do with Spike TV.

I thought he won that case? well at least they settled and paid him some money and promised to buy some of his films.

Spike lee is an absolute sell out to everything he proclaims to be true too. Dont believe me? check out the latest orange cinema adverts here in the UK.

And Spike TV went to shit after they renamed it. I mean god, what happened to Real TV? they absolutly gutted it! now its some documentary type crap! Honestly when i was in NC back in september we would watch TLC for the more manly shows (Cars exploding etc).

There was a Pitfall game that was scrolling text. You had to move your ship through it as the sides of the walls came up from the bottom. Quite hard, too, especially since it'd speed up as your processor sped up. The guys who played it on 'Turbo' mode were the shiznit.. or something.

Well, text ADVENTURES I know of, yes. I was wondering what text scrolling ACTION was.

Fond memories of those text adventures though, especially that one about the thief. And who can forget Zork, or the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? Anyone remember what you had to do with the Babelfish?

Holy Toldedo.. that's one of the biggest in-logo advertisements I've ever seen... I like Far Cry too, but that's pretty serious.

I'm still trying to find the name of a crappy game we used to play on IBMs.

It was a maze type game, graphical, where you move NSEW and, in some cases, up or down. I believe you were trying to find pirate gold, and we called it Pirates, yet clearly it wasn't.

All I firmly remember was that you entered a cave in the beginning, but if you chose you could instead climb a cliff and enter a Giant's home and get eaten. I believe there was a birdcage in the home, complete with a tiny human skeleton.

I believe he was referring to "text scrolling action", not text adventures. I'd be surprised if the bulk of the Blue's clientele hadn't at some point played one or more of Zork/Enchanter/Planetfall/etc....

There's a man out there I haven't seen in 15 years who's trying to kill me.
