Today is the seventh(?!) anniversary of Michael Abrash's departure from id Software. If you are curious about what the programmer and author (his Ramblings in Realtime can be read online here) is up to lately, he is currently writing libraries at RAD Game Tools where he has worked on creating Bink for the PlayStation 2 and a new version of the Miles Sound System, and he will be conducting a session this week at the Game Developers Conference on "Optimizing Pixomatic For Modern Processors."

Need one go on? Not really. I still don't understand why it is taught as fact these days.

Evolution is fact, the mechanisms behind it are still up for debate, but as sure as the Earth revolves around the Sun, evolution is fact.

The facts, from the fossil record and from geology, from genetics and studying current species all point to evolution. What "evidence" can you provide that all life on this earth suddenly popped into existence as is.
Want to blame someone for all this evolution nonsense, look to Carolus Linnaeus, a stanch creationist. His classification of all species to prove God's great plan planted the seeds that led to the downfall of his own belief structure.

And evolution does not concern itself with the origin of life, just the mechanisms behind the genetic changes to life over time. So your two big arguments against it have nothing to do with evolution.
