"I'll put it in a blender with some milk and make you a proteine shake for when I break your jaw on your on low intellegence"
Next sentence...
"First of all I never said I had a problem with artistic renders you 4 year old mexican faggots who have the reading comprehension of... 4 year old mexican faggots."
I never would normally get involved in the spelling/grammar pedantic argument, but with this horribly written sentence followed by an attack on people's reading comprehension I could not resist. Protein is spelled like so and “intelligence” is spelt like so… intelligence. Also, what does "I break your jaw on your on low intellegence" mean? Anyone.

| 3 but they don't unlock after you beat the SP ladder matches... I still have question marks. Oh well, i'm sure there will be a patch or post somewhere eventually that clears it up. Its not like any of the unlockable skins are all that great. UT models have always been on the crappy side, Quake always beat the crap out of unreal on that department. |

What's the disadvantage of turning it off? If you encounter a skin it hasn't loaded you'll get a slight drop in fps for a second or two. The faster load times are more than worth it though.
And speaking of skins, why are there some skins missing? Have you finished the single-player ladder yet? That should unlock the remaining skins.

Its usualy never a good idea to upgrade for a game, instead its much more efficient to wait on the next new thing AFTER your favorite game comes out. Cool. My comp. runs Photoshop great, so judging by what I see in that Designer Diary, I guess I'll be fine for Far Cry!! WOOOOHOOOOOO! petty and foolish, I know.. but I haven't had any coffee yet, and I'm a surly fuck in the AM.

I don't see them stating they are artistic renders OR screenshots, they just let the reader make the assumption him/her self. I think its pretty shitty and underhanded... The game devs didn't put that article together. Redirect your rage towards Gamespy.
It'd probably just be better to quit before you come off looking even more infantile than you already do. Even if somebody out there
is hopeless enough to not realize what these images are
and does get "tricked" into buying the game because of them, he is
either too dim to even notice or
probably won't care: the actual game looks about as good.
Your argument only makes sense if this Photoshopped shit shows up on the box, clearly purporting to be real screenshots.
Even if that does happen, it isn't an unholy sign of game devs suddenly degenerating into the use of corrupt, duplicitous marketing ploys. About fifteen years ago, the original Wing Commander box was covered with heavily doctored/entirely bogus screenshots. I don't imagine you'd quite been born yet at the time, but briefly: nobody threw a tantrum over the "shitty and underhanded" box, the gaming market did not collapse, and it somehow even ended up being a fairly popular game IIRC.
But please, boycott FC in protest anyway so nobody playing will have to bother adding you to their ignore list.

Well, that's actually what I'm planning on doing. Right now I'm waiting for the new cards from nVidia and ATi to come out before I upgrade my current vid card. Hope they are released soon.

Yeah, I understand, Ray. I just think most PCs that are faster than mine are high end.. because mine is almost up there except for the vid card.
There is. Setting it to off brings the load times into the 20 second range. Ah, thought so. What's the disadvantage of turning it off? If the game doesn't pre-load the skins, then does it do it once the map is loaded?
And speaking of skins, why are there some skins missing? Look at the picture on the rear bottom-left of the UT2k4 box.. Why isn't he available in the game? I've seen him (or similar ones) in the game menu as well that aren't there.

love the heavily modified in photoshop screenshots... I guess blatent lies are now common place in videogames
I said I have a problem with them showing these renders in an obvious atempt to tack on a little bit more hype for a game already WAY overhyped That is not what you said at all.
Your retarded comments and bullshit pretty much speaks for itself. Do they actually let people use computers in the insane asylum?

Isn't there also an option to do that in the game? I thought I saw something about it when I was getting all my settings set up last night. There is. Setting it to off brings the load times into the 20 second range.

Well, I was more of less talking about the CPU. 3GHz (or rating equivalent) will give you the idealized "I turned all the options on and it ran fine" spot, but the newer CPUs can get you a good 10% to 20% increase.
That really is only the high, high end, though. I have a XP3200 and 9800xt and I can run everything fine, with the questionable exception of AF/AA. Meanwhile, my friends with the *latest* Chipzilla / AMD processors can run the games with AA/AF enabled and still be quite playable.
I was only looking at the highest end; "acceptable" performance is completely relative.

I think the current sweet spot is about 3GHz (or equivalent), 1 gig of ram, and a 9800-level card. Even then, that is not necessarily high end... You don't think that's high end? I think that's about as high end as you can get. heh Sure, you can get a few hundred more Mhz (or a 64-bit processor) and another gig of ram, but I don't think that would help much. And you can't get anything much faster than a 9800 yet.
ut2k4 maps take such a long time to load b/c, by default, all available skins are loaded. Go to ut2004.ini in the 2k4 system folder, and change desireskinpreload to false. Isn't there also an option to do that in the game? I thought I saw something about it when I was getting all my settings set up last night.

Aww fuck your baby, I'll put it in a blender with some milk and make you a proteine shake for when I break your jaw on your on low intellegence.
First of all I never said I had a problem with artistic renders you 4 year old mexican faggots who have the reading comprehension of... 4 year old mexican faggots. I said I have a problem with them showing these renders in an obvious atempt to tack on a little bit more hype for a game already WAY overhyped. Yes FarCry is fun, Yes its editor is good, but do you really think anyone interested in the game want's to see shitty renders of scenes not in the game? It speaks loads about CryTek if they are so willing to bullshit its customers.
Yay some asshat spent 5 weeks making those renders, well I don't give 3 shits. If its not in the game I don't give a fuck about it being posted in a preview. They could have just as easily shown those same locations if they are even in the game, as real screen shots. But noooo. On top of that you fagbaits that cry "they didn't say they were screen shots," can go choke on aborted baby sphincters. I don't see them stating they are artistic renders OR screenshots, they just let the reader make the assumption him/her self. I think its pretty shitty and underhanded, but you corperate fucks slash fanboys keep trying to convince yourself that your special. Trust me, we ALL think your special... |
