Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I made a photo copy of the whole thing. I'd rather send too much than not enough and end up not getting the rebate.

Hmm, that's a good question..
You could always write the CD key in your UT2k4 cover so you don't lose it.. but I don't see why you'd ever need it anyways now that you have UT2k4.

Hey everyone. I picked up my copy of 2004 last night. Since I have UT2003 I'd like to do the $10 rebate that came with it.
The rebate form says to include the "original manual cover from UT2003."
Does anyone know if this is just the front cover or the ENTIRE cover that includes the CD key? My gut tells me that it's the entire thing, but I don't want to have to mail away my CD key if I don't have to.

All three of the BB stores near me sold out of the SE instantly (so I'm told).
What really makes me mad is that one of them sold out yesterday, even though their sale flyer said it wouldn't be on sale until today.

Finally the special edition made it to Germany, UPS delivered today. In an hour i'll meet some friends and then the boxes get distributed.

Really? I didn't think it was that popular.. even though I do enjoy it a lot. I'd bust out laughing though if I saw some older lady get that excited about this game.  It'd be different if it was the Sims or something.
Is there any way to find information on how the DVD version is selling compared to the CD version? It seems like most people are buying the SE which I think is good.. maybe more games will follow UT's lead and sell DVD versions too. I know I've said it before, but the SE edition is the reason I bought a DVD drive for my PC.

Heh, just got the SE Edition at Best Buy, was there right at opening and a line was forming at the doors, 20 copies gone in mere seconds, craziness. It was funny, one mom grabbed the box, held it chest high and exclaimed loudly "Yes!", I was like, huh? Wasn't sure if she was a fragger or what, but to see a mom type get all excited was funny.

Saw this on the board at the official UT site:
If, after messing with the targeting reticules in the option screen (where you can change the reticule for each weapon), you notice that some of your weapons now have no targeting reticule AT ALL, delete the user.ini file in the system directory...
Worked for me...
Obviously, after doing this, you'll need to pick your avatar and re-enter your name again...

That's odd that some of the cards are in that nice looking case, but one is clearly in a paper sleeve...I wonder why? Maybe they had to change it at the last minute...

6 CD's. Technically they are not ALL in a jewel case. But here's a pic of what comes with the CD version I picked up today. Last box in store. Oh, and my first post on bn (big lurker here.)

Local B-Buy got 11 SE editions. At opening only 5 were on the shelf as the employees had bought 7 of them (I was told by an employee). I bought the CD edition and so far it's not been as much fun as the demo. Flight chars for the fliers seem MUCH worse - it can hardly fly it seems. It also didn't pickup ANY of my settings from the demo so I had to setup everything all over again. Tonight I cannot contact the master server so it looks like single player night - bleah!
Anyone else having issues gettin to the master server? Hopefully BBuy will restock SE editions tomorrow, I may grab one - we'll see.
P.S. Cute - it JUST contacted the master server after ten mins of trying. Hopefully I can get some good favories marked!

I picked up one of the CD versions that I mentioned below just to check it out. The box felt pretty heavy like they were in some sort of a jewel case. It definitely felt heavier than just 6 CDs and some paper.

I *really* hope that the CD version doesn't have all the CDs in those cheap paper CD slips like 2003 did. That just wreaked of cheapness, and plus it was way too easy to lose one.

I stopped by my local BB last night, just to see if they had it out earlier than their 3/18 date that was in the flyer.
Right inside the door on a folding table were two copies of the CD version of UT2004. Since I want the DVD version I went straight to the games section to see if that had that as well....no luck.
They had the space carved out on the shelves for both versions and the price markers were there, but no games.
So I went to the service desk to see what was up. I was told that they will have them out on Thursday. The woman helping me said that the two copies on the table should not have been there and she was going to go pull them back. Boner.

I was able to pick up the DVD version 30 minutes ago at my neighborhood Best Buy for $29.99
bestbuy.com indicated my local store had some copies in stock, still can't believe it was accurate

I also heard the CDrom version ships on 6 CDs, but I havn't been able to find it stated anywhere. Best Buy says it ships on 1 CD. They're also out of the DVD version.
