Howard Stern Dropped from Clear Channel Stations. Sigh. More disturbing nipple-gate fallout, as the FCC demonstrates its irrelevance with conviction.

Today's Media of the Day is a classic, though it contains adult themes and a couple of adult images and references, it isn't nearly as bad as the title makes it sound. It's probably not great for the workplace nonetheless, if for nothing else but its 17 minute running time. Oh yeah -- Banya!

It seems that 50% of the country also thinks homosexuals can change their sexual orientation, so I don't really know what to think about half the country's views on this. For a start, I'd be cautious examining any broad sweeping polls - particularly with salient issues such as gay rights polls are incredibly reliant on wording: "Do you approve of two men (or women) marrying and having the same rights as married men and women" will get a completely different response from "Do you believe everybody has the right to marry whomever they love." Public opinion is a rather murky subject. The actual legalities of outlawing discrimination against gays (which is what gay marriage boils down to when you strip out all the bullshit man-and-woman Christian stuff) are highly dependent on the scientific proof (or lack of) determining whether homosexuality is genetic, environmental (a choice) or somewhere between the two. Similar to polling, different scientists will tell you different things, with a leaning that depends on who pays their grants. Despite all this, (and despite its rightwards leanings) the Supreme Court will almost certainly throw out any constitutional changes. The Constitution gets a lot of stick for not being relevant (being written 200 or so years ago) so to move it in a direction that is opposite to that of social tolerance and feeling (and I accept that this is hard to measure) is Probably-Not-A-Good-Thing. (tm) My 2 Cents.
