I wish the guns and characters weren’t so fecking huge and bulbous. The original had such a cool dark atmosphere, it’s just cartoony now.

I wish they'd bring back the spin razor weapon, get rid of the goo gun and the lightning gun.

Just watched some footage, I expected new weapons not the 2k3 weapons and a few new ones. I hope they tweaked the guns at the very least to reduce the spam effect and improve the efficiency over long distances. Its basically 2 new weapons (one is anti-vehicular rockets the other a 'nade/spiderbomb launcher) with the rest either remaining the same or getting new models/sounds/tweaks (oh, and they're putting the old UT1 sniper rifle back in as a server option).

Looking forward to the demo, I just hope it's better than what i saw in that cliffyB footage. With far cry, bf vietnam coming out arround the same time, it will be do or die for Epic!

Your right The Half Elf, the demo is due in the next two weeks and according to http://tothegame.com the full game is being released on the 16th March in US & 19th March in UK
Although that cuts it very fine on the definition of 'Winter 04' in my book as I'm pretty sure 'Spring' starts on the 21st!

basically it ends with the words "Winter 2004"
Winter 2004 in this case means January to March of 2004. A number of companies (and universities) use this type of quarter naming -- Jan to Mar is winter, Apr to Jun spring, Jul to Sep summer, and Oct to Dec is fall.

This looks great, although has anyone checked out the gameplay movie for 2004 on the official website
download the Gamespy Exclusive one on Vileplanet. Its about 300 megs but it shows a ton of gameplay along with 3 Dropkick Murphy tunes for appropriate ambience:
