its really sad when people start talking bullshit about people they dont even know...I was 17 when i started talking with John as *friends* if any of you know what that word means.. And so what if we have a big age difference, we never had a problem with that, so i dont see why anybody else should have one- afterall we all have our lives and we do whatever we want with them, right? We're not the first couple with such an age difference and certainly not the last one... And there arent any hidden intentions behind me or anything else... We're just a normal couple that wants a normal&happy life just like anybody else.

Hell, about 50% of all marriages end in divorce anyways.
I thought it was closer to %60 for the United States...Bleh, don't recall anymore. Ah, I say congratulations to them and hope for their happiness. As for ethics, whose are we going by here? The American ethos of marrying within the same age group or one that derives from outside the country? I'm not one to argue this point, but within the US, and most of the civilized world, she is well above legal age to do whatever and wherever her wiles take her, so for her, I do believe all that is needed to be of concern is whether we need to contain Stevie Case before she corrupts another lost soul.

As for meeting on the internet, ive got nothing against it as such, however he initiated conversation and they became a couple while she was 16! thats wrong.
Having said that it sounds right from Mr Romeros perspective,.. afterall the guys a dick and it makes sense that if all the same age english speakers in your country see you for what you are, then you would need to import a niave child who has a very basic grasp of english.

But seriously, I know a friend in Australia that met a girl online from South America (forgot which country), and they are planning on getting married soon. I've got another friend that lives near me in GA who met a girl from Mexico and they're happily married now. So, not all internet-to-real-life relationships fail. Hell, about 50% of all marriages end in divorce anyways.
Oh, and I'm not Romero, BTW.
