The promised bitter cold has returned here, but at least it didn't get quite as rainy and warm in advance, so at least we're not covered in sheets of ice (I'm looking at the bright side).

Thanks to all who offered suggestions about that Outlook image downloading dealie... nothing I tried actually provoked that feature into working properly again, but I can thank Frodo Underhill for pointing the way to the setting to read messages in plain text, which has the same net effect of eliminating the embedded images, while also adding another layer of confidence that scripts and other potentially malicious content will not be inadvertently executed.
