Out of the Blue

My buddy Devicer has taken delivery on a whole load of hardware goodies to build himself a hot new gaming system, so I'm going to head up to his place later today to help put it all together. I've noticed that this prospect has me all a-tingle with anticipation, like a kid on Christmas Eve, which has given me a bit of pause as I try and figure out what's wrong with me. Oh well, I'm not going to worry too much about it, as I imagine that there are more than a few of you taking similarly geeky pleasure in a project that many would consider tedious. And look at me, I'm so worked up about this I have to share that in a place where Devicer will get to read it, completely ruining my chance to make it seem like he owes me one for doing him this big favor.

Yeah man, Yoshimi is great. Definitely check out Grandaddy's album Sumday if you dig Yoshimi. I keep trying to buy The Soft Bulletin, but haven't been able to get my hands on it.

EDIT: Yeah, I remember Wayne's notes on their site as well as all the other information was a really interesting read. I've heard those guys put on a crazy good live show, too. I have some recordings that sound cool, but from what I've heard, they can't convey the full effect.

The Flaming Lips

Yes, yes and yes!

I'm really enjoying their music right now. Seriously debating picking up that special version of YBtPR 5.1

edit - add tiny linkage (for the Mayor since he's feeling sad)!

Listen to:

Elliott Smith
The Flaming Lips
The Shins
Grandaddy
The Wrens
Death Cab for Cutie

That's what's on my play list of late. The Shins - Chutes Too Narrow is still the best.

EDIT: Dan, you were talking up Jet, therefore your opinion is invalidated.

If interest rates were 3%, $5m every year for evermore would be worth about $165m. So whichever way of looking at it it's $165m.

If you win 165 million in the lottery, that doesn't mean you get 165 million in your pocket. You actually see quite a bit less.

The gov't cuts it in half and then you'll get the remaining annuity. Which, if it pays only 6% per year for life, would be about 5 mil a year. Not bad.

Edit: Thanks to those with the KoTOR suggestions. Didn't have time to give them a try last nite

Don't worry, I won't. But I won't give any money to Halsy, either ...

Well, I'm sorry you feel that way. I'll do my best to assuage God's anger, but he said it's the money or eternal damnation for you. See you in hell I guess.

How could it possibly cost $5 US to ship a scroll lock button?

It would cost 37 Cents for First Class postage to ship a scroll lock button(in side US of course). But that is just the "shipping" charge, not the "handling" charge in “shipping & handling”.

The funny thing is, that at this point, the woman who claims to have lost the winning ticket... even if she's lying, she's past the point of no return and must stick to her story, which is only going to put her in the hole money-wise once the lawyer hands her a bill. lol

Apple also isn't telling us how the batteries in the new minipod only last 18 weeks.

That's ok. I'm sure I would misplace the thing before the batteries ran out.

This is the same God that all the NFL players praise when they score the winning touchdown.

But if God can win a game, he must lose it for the other team.
