13. Sin2 Jan 6, 2004, 07:23 JeZZyBaLL

I am continually impressed by the fans that stay with this game. I personally loved Sin & Wages of Sin. Now indeed people are playing HL2 via mod's, but would you believe there are STILL 1-2 servers that run SiN MP. I reinstalled after 3 years 3 days ago. Had the best time I've had in a long time gaming with 6-7 players in DM. The taunts, player models, weapons, and maps are still some of the most unique and well done in my 13 years of gaming.

So let's move on from Publisher vs Patch.

Why wouldn't we want to see a game from a great bunch of creative dev's. Why wouldn't we appreaciate the updated antics of Blade (Who's new renders look great), Elexis (who new breasts look good and who face needs to look more like the old version IMO-remember these were prototypes). I'd love to hunt down more CheesyPoofs for a secret ending. Play CTF with the grapple and swing from skyscrapers like Spidermans Bad Brutha.

I want more of the imagination and bawdy fun that SiN had.

Reload SiN now get on-line and play some. I'd still pay for this game today.

Bring on SiN II. I'll buy 3.

i wasn't bashing ritual, I really liked sin but it had more problems that really worked against it. the publisher is always to blame for rushing games out before they are ready. its something to do with the majority of publishers being small dicked fuckwits.

half life has had more patches than any other game i can recall (other than the pos that is derek smarts bastard child) but from out of the box it was a much better game (all round) than sin.

Come one, lets not be too easy on Sin here. Half Life SP was perfectly playable on release. Sin had 1 minute+ loading times, so if you died, you had to wait. Only a 17Meg patch rectified this.

Well said STATIC, wasn't there tons of patches for Half-life More than Sin ever had, people seems to forget that one, and Sin really had better netcode. I enjoyed play both, but Sin was way much better for SP/MP. So, sign on that damn petition Not that grammar one

Signed...#102

As I said in my signature comment, it wasn't Rituals' fault the game didn't do good. Activision pushed the release of the game in order to beat Half-Life on store shelves. Activision thought that if they didn't get their FPS out before Half-Life that they would lose sales.

Granted, they would have lost some sales from the popularity of Half-Life. But, there is little doubt in my mind that they lost MORE sales due to releasing the game in a buggy state (and getting negative comments/word of mouth going).

Half-Life may have had some "groundbreaking" gameplay, but so did SiN (something often overlooked by many)...Positional body damage (headshots/bodyshots/legshots) and damage skins to mention a couple. Oh yeah, SiN also had MUCH better netcode than Half-Life.

Even Penny Arcade was able to find a positive side to the rushed release... :}

perhaps the tiny brains that most publishers have still remember the fact that on release sin had to be patched with a huge (well for the day) 19mb file before it would run properly on most peoples machines, if i remember rightly there were some pretty big problems with sin on launch, sure they corrected em but too late imo as hl came out just a couple of weeks later and fucked every other fps for miles around up the ass with its superior quality and groundbreaking gameplay.

i think the main reason though is as much fun as sin was and no matter how cool some renders / screenshots look now for sin2, it simply didn't sell enough copies to warrant some dick in the finance department of the Evil Army to sign away the dev budget needed to make the game

SiN2 petitions needed....damn publishers need to grow some balls and let adult content be in games. Hell, there is GTA3, yet no publisher will go for SiN? All SiN had was a bathroom masturbation scene with some girating gigantic male genetalia stone statues... and suggestive videos...

GO LEVELORD!
