Out of the Blue

Hopefully the crickets have not settled in too comfortably around here, as the holiday quiet season will presumably (make that hopefully, <chirp> <chirp>) conclude after today.

I had similar success using that Zicam zinc nasal spray dealie to help quash the cold symptoms I started feeling yesterday, but who knows whether I'm just succumbing to the placebo effect... especially in light of the articles dug up with Google that I've been reading about this homeopathic remedy. It turns out zinc remedies have their own set of controversies, ranging from claims that some zinc lozenges can actually worsen the common cold, to a lawsuit claiming that a single application of the nasal version resulted in a permanent loss of someone's sense of smell. Eeek!

Actually Zoolander changed my life. As a child, I attended the Derek Zoolander School For Children Who Want To Read Good. My Parole Officer says I wouldn't be where I am today if I hadn't.

Heh, hopefully you live in Seattle and not Tacoma. Theres been a string of incidents with the cops ticketing scores of people for this. I'm just glad its finally melting, I like helping people and all, but pushing more than 5 cars in one day is a bit of a stretch.

Actually you are one of 3 people that liked Zoolander.

I'm actually one of the others... wonder what the chances of the third being on this forum too?

Good start to the season. I like Ben Stiller so this should be good.

Did you ever see Zoolander? I think I'm one of 5 or so people that liked that one...

Guess I should secret text this kinda stuff:

The phone part was a little slow...I was waiting for the doctor to throw him out of the office...

Only 2 months until Sopranos!

I liked the part about Wang and Tang...

I thought the discussion about the Doctors phone was a little lame.

Good start to the season. I like Ben Stiller so this should be good.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was good, though I don't think it was up to par with some of the better episodes of last season. Seems like it'll be a good season though... the anniversary thing is a great premise.

I liked the part about Wang and Tang...

My wife and I have friends in Philadelphia - I keep telling her we should plan a trip to visit them around an Eagles/Packers game; though the friends said I couldn't wear anything GB or I'd get tarred by the home fans (or worse ).

You wouldn't have any problems wearing Packers colors in and around town. Even in the stadium you can get away with it, if you can keep your mouth shut. Be prepared for a lot of ribbing and name calling. It's when people from out of town start to shout back that the fights break out. Thast said, this next game could get ugly. With the game set to start after 4:00 PM the fans will tailgate from 9:30AM till the gates open. They will be sooo trashed.

The NFL really should set all Eagles games for 1:00 starts. That way the drunks only have 4-5 hours to ramp up.

I usually go to one game a year. My tickets come from people that want to either ditch a 'bad' game (Phoenix or some other retread) or to avoid what could be a really rowdy crowd.

Because of that I end up going to more than my share of MNF games and Cowboys games. I would not wear Dallas colors to the Link. That could be a mistake. While I've seen plenty of scuffles in the stands I've never seen an outright beating.

, so perhaps next year...

That would be great.

That int came courtesy of an ex-eagle. He was well known in Philly for getting stupid unsportsmanlike conduct penalties right after making a big play like that one.
Sherman has a habit of giving troubled players a second chance - Harris, Terry Glenn, etc. I don't know if he succeeds in reforming them all though, and I half think GB obtained Harris just for the matching hairstyles on the corners.
If it was feasible I would have everybody over. I'm not paying for air fare.

Just so happens the schedule next year has GB playing in Philly during the regular season...

With all the Kitchen/Home Depot... shenannigans... you've undoubtedly been busy, so perhaps next year...

There are a couple resorts up in here Ohio. Nothing special, but there are a few nice jumps and a half pipe at one of them. (Course they work better with SNOW instead of all this FUCKIN RAIN)
