New BF1942 Desert Combat

Trauma Studios has released a new version 0.6 of the Desert Combat modern combat modification for Battlefield 1942. The new version is described as "one of the largest releases yet, including an array of new vehicles and weapons and 3 new maps." The update is only available as a patch for version 0.5, and in addition to the mirrors they list, the 239 MB download is mirrored on ActionTrip, Boomtown (registration required), FilePlanet (registration required), FileFront, Filerush, Gamer's Hell, Games-Fusion, GameSpot DLX (registration required), and Worthplaying.

800 megs of content, thats insane, this is better then both of dice's gay expansions combined. Time for some heli action on new maps, cant beat those heli's. Dev's making these games strive to get fan content like this, I'm glad BF1942 was the next game to hit it big with fan made mods, it deserves the attention, and only further cements the fact that good mod support is needed in game. Hopefully they wont retail this mod, while I would love the makers to receive a profit from it, retailing it attracts too many idiots and cheaters to justify doing it, just look at CS's downfall after it hit retail.
