You fail to realize that there are groups out there who literally want to be pissed off, so they can wring concessions and money out of whatever organization or person happened to utter the magically offensive words.

Welcome to the Balkanization of America.

I remember when I lived in Los Angeles a few years ago a couple of heavily armed black men siezed a prominent city bank and took those people inside hostage. Negotiations failed and LAPD SWAT were called in. They stormed the bank and immediately killed one of the gunman, but the other backed off with a hostage towards a corner of the bank itself. By happenstance, a sniper was able to reposition himself and was able to take down the remaining gunman without harm to the hostage herself.

Now, shoot past to a few months later and the two people who took the bank are long dead, but their family sued the city of LA, LAPD itself, and I think even one particular individual for shooting their sons; all the premise that it was done out of racial hatred. Does that make sense? The US produces more than fifty percent of the world's lawyers. So, naturally, with our very open and fair court system, every and any lawsuit that comes out of all corners of the ass crack are available for suit.

I'm caucasian, but I'm not suing Rock Star for their potrayal of my kind being gunned down.

For goodness sake, I wish people wouldn't be so sensitive over this kind of thing. If people paid attention to what was actually going on, rather than getting hung up on words, these things would never get to this stage. It's just the idea that the minute people hear any word that relates to their ethnic group it must obviously be bad, regardless of context. Like people freaking out the minute anything is referred to as "black".

In this context, the Haitians being referred to are the guys you are out to kill. The game knows this, the player knows this. It's not referring to all Haitians everywhere and any fool can see this. Well, it seems not any fool can see this, as some clearly can't.

Well hopefully the next GTA game will say "kill all the white people"

Seemingly it went without saying in Vice City, it was just assumed you were killing all the white people.

If the game were to out and out say "all Haitians are drug dealing fiends" or "kill all the Haitians in the world" then maybe it would be a problem. But it doesn't, and it isn't.

Stupid.

So... the line "Kill all the Haitians" is offensive and must be removed from the game, but it's ok to leave in the part where you actually kill all the Haitians?

Bizarre.

Maybe in the next game it'll say "Kill all the politicians and those who lobby for them!"

... is that the secret service at my door?

Actually says "Kill all the Haitians"... probably during one of the "Cuban" missions for Umberto Robina.

Ahhh thanks for the NYT Blues login info.

So it is confirmed that it says "Kill Haitians" and not "Kill the Haitians"? Oh well, next time Rockstar is going to have to play it safe and not mention any ethnicities in their next GTA installment. Just keep it neutral with "Cause mayhem in the big city!" or some BS like that.
