I'm not sure what that means. ASE updates through the browser and\or you can dowload ASE from it's own website. I've never used Fileshack.
What is being refered to is that Steve Gibson cried wolf over the Call of Duty exclusive demo for Gamespy and rallied many other sites, including Blues News to boycott the public demo when it was released. Gibson also made some lame announcement how that would never happen on his site, blah blah blah.
A month or so later Fileshack announced it was going to have the exclusive demo of some game...dont remember what is was cus it was nothing I cared to play.
Your first post was rather lucid and congenial but you've degenerated to a greater level of defamation with each additional post.
Heaven forbid I actually use some colorfull language in my posts. I still look like a saint and an english major compared to the majority of the posters on the forums. Have you visited any of teh Deus Ex 2 threads lately?
Obviously you never played MOH:AA when it was first released. But you can't simply admit that, can you? Quick Google and here's a link. Read the second last paragraph, it's regarding MP.
Actually I did play MOH:AA and finished it in a couple days. Never did like mulitplayer much though. And I just checked, you are right, it did require you to use Gamespy when it first came out. But shortly after was patched to work with other software.
I can admit when Im wrong? Can you? So far, not.
I have a problem with the way they handled that situation of exclusivity. Understand???
Well maybe you can try and understand that they have every right to lock up exclusive deals with companies. Its the way the world works. I can guarantee they dont care what you think. Exclusives are key to marketting. Fast Food companies get exclusives to movie tie ins, Toy Companies get exclusives to toys and games, computer manufactures get exclusives to software and 3rd party hardware, Gaming consoles get exclusive game titles, etc, etc.
No reason the gaming websites should be any different.
Do I necassarily agree with everything that goes on? Nope. But I dont have to. I'm not a whiney little punk that thinks that every company is trying to ruin the gaming industry.
