I am celebrating the young cold and flu season, as I am suffering from a cold and/or flu already. It came on startlingly quickly following seeing my buddy Devicer, who has been suffering himself, so at least I'm pretty sure I know who to blame. Anyway, thank goodness for Cold-Eeze (you know you're sick if you can't taste the zinc) and Tylenol Cold... for the next few days I'm gonna be an over-the-counter drug fiend.

R.I.P.: Actor Fred Berry dies at 52. But he lives on in re-runs. Also, Wild-eyed movie villain Jack Elam dies. The Once Upon a Time in the West curse continues... watch out Claudia Cardinale!

Windows degradation function engaged

Alright, I could use some help here... starting yesterday, windows kept giving me blue screens of death, not the kind I've usually seen, but something about an error in windows, and it starts dumping physical memory to disk. This was happening pretty frequently, usually preceded by a crash of explorer or any numper of programs (running the Call of Duty demo caused the system to eventually hang). I did a system restore to two days prior, ran scan disk, defagmented, scanned for viruses twice, deleted a lot of things I've downloaded lately, uninstalled lots of superfluous software, and finally ditched IE and Outlook for Mozilla. Right now I haven't gotten any blue screens in the last few hours, but Max Payne 2 now consistently kicks me back to the desktop after a minute or two of playing, something that never happened before, and I'm getting a few other apps crashing more frequently. This is annoying. Any ideas? Windows XP home, sp1 P4 2.6 GHz Intel GRG840 mobo 512 MB RAM Samsung CDR 75 gig HD Sound blaster audigy 2 Radeon 9700 pro ~Steve
