Ships Ahoy: Nosferatu

Here's word on North American availability of Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi:

Hoboken, NJ (October 20, 2003) – iGames Publishing today announced that this Halloween’s most anticipated horror game, Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi, has shipped to retail stores nationwide. Based on the classic film, Nosferatu combines first-person shooter action with shocking horror elements in a gothic castle setting ridden with deadly, nightmarish vampires. Nosferatu has an MSRP of $29.99 and has been rated M for Mature.

“Nosferatu has all the ingredients of a perfect horror game - dark haunting graphics, frightening sound effects and a shocking style of gameplay that will keep gamers on the edge of their seats,” said Rick Bosch, CEO of iGames Publishing.

Developers Idol FX have delivered a seamless blend of atmospheric survival horror and intense first-person shooter action in Nosferatu. Players must search through the shadowy halls and dank dungeons of a massive castle to free their imprisoned friends and family…failure to rescue the prisoners will not only result in their death, but in the resurrection of an ancient supernatural being who will threaten all of mankind.

Nosferatu is accompanied by a spine-chilling musical score, eerie 3D graphics, real-time lighting, grainy screens and a random architecture generator which changes the castle layout and location of the characters, enabling players to experience the castle differently each time they play.

Gamers can visit the website (www.nosferatu-game.com) for a peek into the Nosferatu underworld with screenshots and a chilling trailer. A demo for Nosferatu is available on game file download sites everywhere, including: Happy Puppy, FilePlanet, and GameSpot.

CEOs, PR people, and general senior staffers are in NO position to release game announcements and press releases. Simply put they don't entice me to want to buy the game.

Tagline such as, “iGames Publishing today announced that this Halloween’s most anticipated horror game, Nosferatu”, “Nosferatu has all the ingredients of a perfect horror game - dark haunting graphics, frightening sound effects and a shocking style of gameplay that will keep gamers on the edge of their seats,” and “Players must search through the shadowy halls and dank dungeons of a massive castle to free their imprisoned friends and family…failure to rescue the prisoners will not only result in their death, but in the resurrection of an ancient supernatural being who will threaten all of mankind.” Are lame and played-out and completely bogus when it comes to how the game REALLY is. That’s why review sites are so popular (excluding IGN [bunch of sell-out bastards]).

I am not going to download a 211.8 MB file just to see if it’s worth my time.

There's needs to be a new job position for every company that takes a member of the development team and moves them into a PR position. Because when they speak gamers will respond.
