Ubi Soft Takes
to the Skies in the Battle of Britain (thanks Frans) is the press release
announcing still another flying combat game based on the World War II conflict
Churchill called the RAF's "finest hour." This WW2 combat flight
simulator is to be created by 1C: Maddox Games (IL-2 Sturmovik), and the
announcement also includes word of plans for an IL-2: Forgotten Battles
expansion. Here's a bit on Battle of Britain, not to be confused with LucasArts'
Their Finest Hour: The Battle Of Britain (1989), Talonsoft's turn-based BoB game
(1999), Rowan's Battle of Britain (Nov 2000), WWII: the Battle of Britain 1940
(due this month from iEntertainment), or many other similarly named projects:
"The Battle of Britain will be packed with even more historical realism,
and will utilize a new engine, a dynamic campaign system and new weather
effects. The game will take place in 1940 during the infamous "Battle of
Britain", between England, Germany and Italy, and it will allow players to
fly for the British, German or Italian air force."
