Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Amzanig huh? I believe that. Until the internet came along I did a lot of reading but had hardly written anything since high school. I think this is why my spelling skills had become so bad. Spelling involves memorization and repetition while reading is more like pattern recognition (unless you're a really slow reader).

The whole prOn thing reminded me of the following interesting bit I found:
Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a total mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Amzanig huh?

I was flipping through a catalog "SmartHome" sent me, and notice quite a good deal, and decided to see if it was an online deal as well. A lot of people might be interested in. http://www.smarthome.com/8023d.html It is a Star Wars universal remote control, and it is on sale for $9.99 right now.
I am holding out, and hoping the cool ass Start Trek Phaser remote http://www.smarthome.com/8023.html Goes on sale, down to something other then $40! I always liked the look of the original series phaser, instead of the gay dildo looking things in the later ones. (plus, the trigger button is channel up and down, how bad ass is that!)

Oh, and what's so funny about Mr. Stabby? Am I missing something? I didn't think much of it, but there are much better things on the rathergood.com site anyway. Check out some of the kitten flash things, they're quite funny. The "We like the moon" thing is insane, and if you sift through the Blode things and find the one about Uberpea it's pretty cool. Oh yeah, and the frightened boy one is funny too.

I always assumed it was a part of the 1337 vocabulary. I did too, I just didn't understand why the 0 and r got swapped...

So how did it (pr0n) get that spelling anyway?
I've often wondered about that too ...
http://www.faqs.org/docs/jargon/P/pr0n.html
I do not know if anybody has ever noticed this, but the "uiop" keys/region of they keyboard are the most "miss typed"/switched order of letters. I have no proof of this, but from my experience, reading what other people have miss typed, it usually involves those letters, has anybody else ever noticed this?(those letters, with some other letter though, not just those 4 letters)

Yeah, I loved all those old songs when I was a kid. Purple People Eater, Monster Mash, Polka Dot Bikini, etc. I loved those little plastic things you had to put in the 45s before putting on the turntable. Weird, actually thining of my old 45 collection I think one of the first ones I ever bought was actually Johnny Cash - Folson Prison Blues. BTW Blue, seeing as you were in New York, did you ever pick up that Canadian TV Show, Hilarious House of Frightenstein? Man, the guys that put that show together were clearly into some serious drugs. Heh, it was a great shot though. Check out this killer site.

Also, the BBC article's sidebar on taxes in Seattle isn't quite accurate. They say that Seattle imposes no sales tax or income tax. Seattle does have sales tax, and the income tax is determined by the state (yes, there's no income tax in Washington state). However, we get to pay huge property taxes on overly-expensive land, and the sales tax rates are up around 8-9%. Those more than make up for the lack of income tax.
