I could say the same thing for Desperado 2. I loved the first one. This second one has a lot of big budget "flair" if you ask me. It still looks good. I think you mean El Mariachi 3. Desperado is a sequel. This is supposed to complete the trilogy.

Aw jeusus. That movie looked like ass. TERRIBLE. Did you see Desperado? Sure, it's not Citizen Kane, but that was an amazing action movie. I'd go to see it expecting a thrill ride (think lots of Matrix lobby scenes).

Bunko,
If this is primarily a gaming rig, I'd go with the Barton and spend the difference on the rest of your system (vid card, sound card, ram, etc.) The 64-bit systems are really nice if you run 64-bit apps, or you use multiple 32-bit apps that use lots of memory, but for gaming, they're a waste of money. I definately wouldn't go with the Opteron, you'll get faster game performance from the Barton. If game companies start releasing 64-bit opimized versions of their games, this situation changes, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.
The 9800pro is and extremely nice card. While I typically use nvidia hardware for workstation level use, my game rig has a 9800 in it and it performs very well.

I'm buying a new system for myself (for HL2 and other games :)). It will be in the medium-to-high end range. I bought a eVGA 5600 Ultra card because it was on sale. Now I'm having second thoughts. I planned on buying a Athlon64 (teehee!) but I may not now due to the enormous cost (:(). If I go lower and swipe a Barton 2500+ or 2800+ it would be much cheaper. Should I buy the Barton or get the Athlon64? If I get the Barton, I could afford a better videocard like a 9800. But I'd have to RMA the Ultra which would cost me $30 plus shipping for the restocking fee. Anybody got any suggestions? I'm just thinking that if I splurge on the Athlon64 my videocard will become a bottleneck, especially on games like HL2.
PS: Then there's the elusive third option: get an Opteron 140! I can actually afford that! It's 272 for the proc and 225 (and falling) for the motherboard. But I must use Registered RAM
Oh, yeah, and no Intel related suggestions. I don't do that

I believe there's a real good chance the government has some kind of anti-gravity, as well as many other revolutionary technologies that would blow us away. However, I really don't give a rat's ass. Why? By the time they make it available to the general public, I'll probably be 90 years old (or long dead). If I can't see it myself, use it myself, or even know for sure that it exists, why the heck should I care?
