Btw, shame on you guys for derailing this thread and turning it into a chest-beating contest.
Yeah, I agree some people abuse the 'net for their own self-gratification and such, etc. but that's old news. My post was intended to be made several days ago, but due to net trouble I had to hold off. Well, I've said my peace, and that's all I needed, so take care.
Don't let other people get you down, especially on the 'net... ; p

Yes, there was skill involved in JK/MotS saber use. The thing is that most people stopped using primary fire except to occasionlly confuse an opponent (I'm speaking of Multiplayer here, in Single Player, the primary swing was fine for taking out none saber opponents). Timing of the double swing (secondary) was the real trick to mastery.
Granted, the saber combat in JK2 and JA is more akin to Bushido Blade 2 in levels of complexity (approaching that level anyway) but JK was revolutionary for the time and only surpassed by Heretic II on the PC before JK2. Die By the Sword suffered from being too random button mashy, and Rune (and Rune:HOV) while great, really didn't add anything to the formula (15 weapons each with a set of swings mirrored in every other weapon, only blocking was down with hand held shields).
A few things that JK/MotS had that JK2 didn't, like the far superior swimming (hope to see that in JA.. no evidence yet that it's in there) and the brilliant lightning effects (your saber could light up a dark room, as could Force seeing... Academy adds a saber glow, it's just not as intense, they probably limited it on purpose of course) and the overlay map (invaluable for preventing frustration on huge puzzle-heavy maps).
Mysteries of the Sith of course had class based play which will thankfully be making a return in Academy (though according to the Demo readme Siege has no bot support... !?).
So hopefully there should be a lot to like in this game, but I would look more to Multiplayer than SP for fun. I agree that overall JK/MotS had JK2 beat in terms of Sp, even though Outcast had its moments (basically once you got the Saber and Force it was fun, minus a few puzzles and that horribly frustrating Nar Shaddaa map).

How about I just accuse you of being stupid? Will that do? I never said people here or anywhere were fat. I really don't give a shit what you look like. I'm not gonna fuck ya.
As far as your description, I already knew you were young, that was a given.

Yeah, apparently. Meaning what? That post probably took 5 minutes to type, which is no time at all, so I doubt he really is all that worried about it.
Oh, and by the way, I'm young, thin, popular, attractive (so I'm told) and planning getting married to my girlfriend. How does that fit in with your picture of people who disagree with you on the internet.
Go on now, accuse me of lying. Either that or accuse me of bragging about things that are irrelevant despite them simply being counters to your previous argumnts. Either way it proves no point whatsoever.

That having applied a sweeping generalisation to other here, and then finding yourself inside it due to your own actions, you somehow believe the the generalisation applies with the obvious (heheh!) exception of yourself.
About the only one of Freuds 5 defence mechanisms that I don't see you employing is Repression, although it's a close thing with Denial given your refusal to accept your hipocracy. You're certainly signing up to intellecualisation by thinking about the kind of people who troll agressively in a detached way to the current situation, or projection of your trolling onto other people (could also include othe things like that dorito munching, but I have no way to know that), and quite possibly displacement by imagining that everyone you're disagreeing with at the moment is actually fat and unattractive, and therefore not a theat to you (possible because the medium of confrontation doesn't allow you to see what the people you find threatening look like).
Don't let me (or your own apparent insecurity) stop you though, I'm enjoying watching you use progressively worse arguments, and the fact that apparently homophobia has also crept in (does thinking of us as homosexual lessen your worry of us as sexual competitors even in this abstract medium?)
I'm sure someone with better qualifications in psychology than me could sum up your behaviour more accurately and draw better conclusions, but I'm not too worried about it.

At any rate, I'm not gonna change. I am who I am. If these children are going to play games with me or others, then they need to realize that sometimes people will lash back. These little girls remind me of people who play Counter-Strike & whine "omg, bs, wtf, hax" when they get shot & brag about their skill when they kill someone. It's utterly laughable & these little twits need to realize that other people shoot back in CS & they'll talk back when disrespected on a forum. And in real life, they'll get their asses beat down for the bullshit they pull on the net, so they keep their little faggot remarks to themselves and live life as a coward. But here, they puff out their chests & talk like their tough. It's pretty funny in a pathetic way. Says the person who's acting tough on a forum?

Thanks bud. After I made my case & saw your post, I decided to wait to see what the kids would say. You were right, of course, they were just little kids hiding behind the distance that the internet gives them. It reminds me of a kid that ran away from me until he was a block down the road, then yelled for my attention & gave me the finger. Inotherwords, these assholes talk the talk, but in the real world, they can't walk the walk.
Your post made me laugh, especially "fecal-scented fingertips" & "Sale on Doritos". I found it quite humorous.

Ahh. I see... so exploring elements of the game in a thread about it (or even ingame) is a waste of your time, but posting like a 12 year old forum troll isn't.

Myself... Zeph, you just turned up. If Creston thought you were being a dick, he might have mouthed off.
You're a newbie (you can't deny it, even if you dislike the epithet) and Creston is pretty old skool. When you're new somewhere, you have to earn respect.
And frankly, I don't think you'll earn a great deal of respect by bitching at the people who've been here forever and a day.
Wanna try bitching at Ray? That'd make me laugh.

Zeph & Creston |

I can sympathize with Zeph. Although I abhor web boards and the kind of gutter trash that spawns from within them, I find myself lurking in the shadows and watching with great curiosity how each of the "personalities" act in any given situation. In other words, I enjoy seeing how geeks suddenly and mysteriously grow testicles when given the unbreakable shield of a monitor and keyboard. As an 8 year veteran of the net, I've had my share of run-ins online, as well as off, and I have come to realize that there are bullies online as well as offline.
Although "Offline" bullies are usually large, muscular, and possessing unibrows, the "online" bullies have pot-bellies, fecal-scented fingertips, and zit-encrusted faces. Sadly, I know this because a site I once worked for had a get together, and I made the mistake of going...You should have seen the way these geeks looked. They talked big to me on their web boards, but when they saw me in person...well, their short, dumpy bodies waddled out the door quicker then you can say "Sale on Doritos".
I stay away from boards such as this, because the intelligence level of your average user doesn't rise that much above Creston or those of his ilk. I know how it is to be a part of a calm, civil conversation and then have it ripped to shreds by a Neanderthal who lacks both the class or the maturity to debate the subject in a professional manner.
In other words: Do not pick on Zeph. I've been enjoying his posts for awhile now. He is one of the few people here who "Tell it like it is" and I respect him for that. Read his post history and try to prove otherwise. (And no, before the little people bite back, I am not a relative nor do I actually know him.)

"He's a troll, and has some sort of fetish w/ Creston."
When I 1st came here to post on BluesNews, I made a comment & Creston was a fag bitch to me about it. So I decided that I would make it so that little fucker would remember that when you mess with someone online, they might be the kind of person that just doesn't let it go. That's what happened. Creston struck first. Interestingly enough; since that time, Creston has been a far nicer person to people. Now he posts A LOT!, as if he has no life a lot. Anyway, could it be that he's less of a dick to people because I put his little ass in line? Or maybe he's finally growing up. At any rate, he shouldn't have messed with me. I was being serious about a game & involved in the conversation. Maybe because he posts so much he started thinking he was a quasi-moderator or something. But it wasn't his place & I wasn't talking to him. Now I hate him.
When I came back here after being gone for awhile, I was engaged in a conversation with two people on a thread & he again came into my conversation (after I'd been gone for awhile) and again was an asshole to me in a conversation of which he had no previous part in.
Basically Creston is a fucktard. I usually have no problem with anyone else here & its been that way all along. I speak freely & I'm not some happy go lucky guy in here trying to be popular with people. I do think its retarded that Creston signs his name. I think he posts way too much. I guess he likes games & that's okay. But when he starts quasi moderating me, I'll take offense. I don't care if he's here 24/7, this isn't his house, and I don't have to put up with his shit.
Now I don't have a problem with you or the other posters here. But you need to realize that there is always, 100% everytime, another side of the story. Creston may seem cool to you, but then again you aren't the one having him trying to find out who you are online & making psuedo-names to mock you and say things as if you were saying them. You aren't the one who has to deal with him jumping into your conversations when it isn't his business in the first place. You aren't the one. I am the one that he picked out in the beginning.
Anyway, I thought you might like to know why I don't like that little bitch ass punk.

"Here's betting it took Zeph a few minutes to figure out."
No. Not really. It just seemed logical to me to use something that provided better visibility. I suspected that the Jedi vision force power would allow me to see through doors or locate a hidden switch. It was quite a small leap of logic really.
"Since you're so brilliant Zeph, why dont you try and come up with a way onto the walkways at the very top of the level?"
What benefit would that be to me? I don't see the use in that. Are you one of those people that looks at every nook and cranny in a game? I don't have the time or the patience to be trying to find a secret door or some flaw that the game testers missed. It's really just a waste of time. If you enjoy wasting your time, you go ahead & find your way up there if you can. If you can't, every minute of time you spent trying to do so was a complete waste. I'm not flaming, I'm just illustrating how I think compared to you. I see it as wasteful. I suppose you might gain a small percentage more understanding of the Jedi jumping skills, but if you played Outcast, you should know full well the limits of this ability.

I thought the demo was just ok. It was fun and things looked very nice, though when compared to the also-Q3-engined powered Call of Duty, it fell way short, especially concerning performance. Both missions were fun, especially the second one, though I found both ho-hum. Call of Duty I played several times, and it was just one-level. I mistakenly thought this was UT2003 powered (the recently announced Star Wars Rogue-Spear style game is I think).

Here's betting it took Zeph a few minutes to figure out. I know I got confused when I was standing on the glyph and getting the force power icon on the door, but the two force powers normally used for opening doorways from JO weren't working.
Since you're so brilliant Zeph, why dont you try and come up with a way onto the walkways at the very top of the level? I've got close, but never quite all the way. While you're doing that, perhaps you can figure out something more productive to do with your inspired mind than trolling?
Or perhaps you could just come here and I'll use this lightsaber to make you my *****, I'm sure there's a special move in the game for it.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well it's a good thing that the people at Raven dumbed-down the puzzles for this game or you'd be using someone's walkthrough again. Remember to sign your name properly.
