Out of the Blue

I mentioned that my ISP managed to choke off the flood of SoBig virus mails a day or so after they began, but I am flooded with bounces from antivirus software reacting to my e-mail appearing as the spoofed sender's address. Now a third wave of related mails is appearing, these from those whose inboxes are now filled... and people say the way e-mail is handled on the internet need an update. Bah, I say... this is just perfect!

They would have a problem getting the pins out of my safe though

Bah, the specifications for this weapon have been around forever. I imagine it would be a simple matter of getting the specifications for the firing pin and then having one made. Not to mention that the AR15 is quite similar in design to the M16A2 - which prompts one of considering using it's firing pin as a replacement.

meh why hunt at all? why not just go fishing

So, it's better to kill fish than deer? If you really think about it, fishing is more cruel than hunting. How do the fish die? They suffocate to death because they can only breathe in water.

Have you ever seen an animal shot by an inexperienced bowhunter? I have. The thing staggers around in agony for about 30-60 minutes until it finally bleeds to death or if the arrow hits a non-critical area it'll cause a festering wound that'll kill it even more slowly (think days/weeks).

Yeah, most people should stick with a gun. It takes a lot more practice to get to be a good shot with a bow, even with all of the technology todays compounds have. I personally won't hunt deer with anything else.

The M16A2 is a VERY simply weapon to disassemble. I don't think anyone would have to much trouble putting the firing pin back in.

They are afraid for their lives because every night on the news they see murders and killings, and they feel the need to protect themselves. But protection really isn't needed. It is actually very unlikely for one to actually get attacked with a gun.

Doesn't matter if they're attacking you with a gun or with a baseball bat or a knife or a spoon, if they're bigger/stronger/faster/more skilled than you, you're still dead. Knowing how to use a gun properly can go a long way towards evening up the odds. The movie is just stupid.

The firing pins are out of them, so they're incapable of firing unless you know how to tear them apart and put the pins back in.

I don't have much respect for hunters either. The animal is at a complete disadvantage. Hunters use too much technology to their advantage.

Tell that to the low income rural family that relies on hunting to supplement the food that they can put on the table. I know a lot of people in northern Ontario that would be half-starved if it wasn't for hunting and fishing, and I see no problem with using technology to accomplish this.

And hunting is damn hard enough a lot of the time even with technology on your side. All it takes is for the wind to turn the wrong way, and suddenly that 10 point buck you've been taking aim at is long gone.

I saw Bowling for Columbine site last night. It actually was a very good movie. The arguements on that Anti-Bowling site are very weak if you actually see the movie. The movie doesn't say that America should have less guns and that there should be strict gun control, etc. but that Americans are driven by the media to be afraid. They are afraid for their lives because every night on the news they see murders and killings, and they feel the need to protect themselves. But protection really isn't needed. It is actually very unlikely for one to actually get attacked with a gun. It's an eye-opening movie. It's excellent and don't think anyone should pass judgement on it before they see it.

There was only one catch and that was Catch-22

I don't have much respect for hunters either. The animal is at a complete disadvantage.

you suggesting we should arm wildlife then? you DO realize that the hambuger you ate last was from an animal at a complete "disadvantage" as it merrily walked up to the sawblade and then the lights went out.

Hunters use too much technology to their advantage. When you carve the bow and arrows or spear from wood using a stone knife, then you are one with nature. That I would respect.

Have you ever seen an animal shot by an inexperienced bowhunter? I have. The thing staggers around in agony for about 30-60 minutes until it finally bleeds to death or if the arrow hits a non-critical area it'll cause a festering wound that'll kill it even more slowly (think days/weeks). yeah, so a homemade bow would be just dandy! The fun is in having to chase the dam thing for ages through an area with other bowhunters, some of whom have been perched in a tree for 8 hours waiting for the perfect opportunity and here you come stomping by out of breath scaring off everything in a one mile radius.

Oh yeah, have fun dressing the carcass with your bone knife.

Anyhow, if you're concerned about the animals a rifle is the way to go.

I must agree with Fang, pools are much more dangerous. Hell not a day goes by you don't hear about some 7 year old grabbing Daddy's pool and accidentally drowing his/her sister with it. Drive-by drownings at highschools are on the rise as well! Of course, the media is blowing it all out of proportion. If you'd believe CNN, you'd find filters and recirculation pumps in 1 out of 3 kid's lockers.

I dont like hunting either. We dont need to take a gun in the woods and shoot up some deer. Were past that now, just go to the damn store and buy some ribs or something. Unless its for population control

Fang!
That Article is flawed!
While deaths do occur in swiming, more are from "falling in"
If you calculate in the above ground pool ratio, less falling in deaths would occur!

HAHAHA! man
You are brilliant! This is a schweet thing to bring up into this conversation....soo damn funny! ya da man!
BAN POOLS!
crap no wait, me and my room mates just put in an above ground pool this summer....go ban the guns, I need my damn pool!

Have you ever seen Cops the TV show? If all people were handed a mandatory gun on their 16th birthday there wouldn't be a Cops show. It would be Crime Scene Cleanup.

There are places actually trying out mandatory gun laws and fighting to get them tried out. Here's one place that has the law already in place:

Isn't the M16A2 sorta illegal to own? And if you collect guns, why don't you just get guns with welded-in barrel plugs? Wouldn't that be safer?

I sure as heck wouldn't post that I own an illegal gun on a public message board that anti-gun people frequent looking for ammunition to fire at people who play FPS games It's a semi-automatic post-ban model. The firing pins are out of them, so they're incapable of firing unless you know how to tear them apart and put the pins back in. Welding the barrels shut would ruin them.

i get so frustrated while driving if i had a gun i would do the same.. or at least his tires. Guns = bad

Killing = Bad. There are plenty of other things you can kill someone with. Check this out:

Violence is an inherent trait in stupid people. Guns make it easier for people to kill without retaliation. I'm not against guns outright, but I'm not completely for them either. I don't have much respect for hunters either. The animal is at a complete disadvantage. Hunters use too much technology to their advantage.
