Amazing that some ppl are willing to pay for the chance to be the first to download stuff that could be just a piece of crap..
"Oh well.. this super über exclusive demo sucked but atleast i was the first to get it.. and the dl speed was really fast too.."

BLUE!!
YOU DA MAN!!
WQQT WQQT and a BIG THANK YOU for driving a Spike into the heart of exclusivity of FileCrap. I buy tons of games that all have the big three's engines from Activision, Sierra and Atari. To nip this in the bud before it gets wings is a GREAT THING!
TO all involved,
THANK YOU
Jay K.

The developers/publishers should host |

I dont see why actviision cant host a free demo themselves. Its insane. If they want me to buy the game. I want to see what I'm getting. I sure won't pay for the priveledge of finding out that a game sucks. Shareware authors HAVE to give away free demos to all who want them, and they host the files themselves. If the sales to tryout rate for COD doesnt justify the bandwidth costs of the game then maybe, just maybe the games not good enough OR the demo filesize is too big. Either way, making the demo exclusive is dumb. I wont get hold of it, and by the time I can, other more interesting demos will be out.

Funny, I am submerged in the same BS you are, yet it doesn't blindly influence me because I am intellgent enough to think things through.
I believe we are going down, and down hard. Ancient Roman Empire, anyone?

The RIGHT NOW attitude is a part of our culture. We see it advertised on TV every day.
When you watch Commercials on TV, they dont say save up your money and buy their product later, they say buy now now now, theres no better time then now, no credit? You can still buy it! Bad credit? No Problem!! Bankrupt?! We'll still let you buy it!! But only if you act now, this once in a lifetime deal wont last forever!
Come on, this stuff is all around us in our society today, OF COURSE WE END UP LIKE IT!!

No, I don't derive my philosophy from a movie. The movie does a good job of expressing some of my beliefs. I thought of the philosophy first, then stated the movie as a good example of the philosophy. So, instead of typing up 10 pages, I simply tell you to watch the movie, which will have the same effect, and possibly communicate my ideas better than I could.

I would also like to add, that this is a PERFECT example of why the United States is in the financial shithouse. People are so worried about what they can get RIGHT NOW-TODAY, that they don't bother to think of the long term impact of their actions.
You can apply this to nearly all things American... including the way we treat our environment.
Don't get me wrong, I love my country, but that doesn't solve our issues obviously.

What's going to be REALLY funny is watching you whiners force the file distributing companies like FilePlanet out of business by taking away the few ways they have to get and keep customers. You fools will be paying MORE MONEY AT THE CASH REGISTER when this happens, because no one will want to absorb the cost of distributing demos.
Enjoy your short-sighted victory while you can.

Wow, I was actually reading your posts with interest until this comment. You actually derive your philosophy from movies? Those are propaganda AT LEAST as much as any W speech. Respect for Rictor just hit an all time low.

Just what we needed
I think I speak for quite a few folks when I say, "Yes. Just what we needed." <--- I'll add a period, for fun.
I *might* download the demo now... if it's convenient for me -- the guy who pays the bills around my house. The guy who's money they want to attract with a *demonstration* of what I'll get for my hard-earned money.
And if I like the demo I'll buy the game. Simple as that.

Oh yeah, communism. Have you really been so brainwashed, so as to believe than anything free is the work of subversive Russian communists? Do you download music? Is that communism?
I don't want to see big corporations (not saying Gamespy is one, just in general) getting richer and richer from my inconvenince. Have you seen Fight Club?
