This is a joke. I've been looking at this for a year or two now and it's a cheap console port!?!
Echelon wraps this POS around it's finger. The only thing going for it are the graphics. And that's quickly lost in the mind numbing circle strafe xbox BS. At least Echelon set a mood, this thing can barely manage to keep itself together coming out of the cut scene.
The developers should have kept it on the console platform.

SSE is an extension to the instruction set by Intel which was only added to recent AMD CPUs. I'm not sure, but I assume you need at least an Athlon XP if you're going with AMD.

I have an AMD Thunderbird 1.4 ghz 266 fsb...Here's the error mesg. I get -
"This demo requires your computer have a SSE compiant processor. The full version will support also non-SSE processor machines. [then it repeats it in German]"
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN???????
I wanna play... waaaaaaaaaaa :'(

I have to add that because there is no time really spent flying to find the enemy, and combat is almost instantaneous, this makes it feel very consolish IMHO. I hope they can bridge that gap for the PC version and make it feel less like a console port, more like a PC game. Stunning visuals tho. Almost no time to be immersed into the visuals as combat comes up so fast. hehheh

well that might be a hold over from the xbox version, which needs a bit of auto tracking for that controller style.

they should fix the strafe/roll key command to make it strafe only. Rolls are built into the joystick function already. The way its bound to each other makes me not wanna use the strafe, which is a cool function to have so you don`t have to approach the enemy always in straight line attacks.
The ship seems sluggish to control. And forward thrust feels non existant. I hope they fix this. While Echelon blows in every area almost incomparison to what I see here, speed of flight and the sensation this offers is not one of them. If they tweak Yager for better control, and mobility, it could be an awesome mp game for the sci fi flight genre.
Another thing, get rid of the auto tracking crosshair. It seems to auto lock on a target when close to it. Not cool. the skill is in you keeping the ret on target.

... it is hellla high detail stuff. Incockpit view is nice,,, really nice. The water is amazing, voice acting is not bad really. I love the look of the incockpit glass sheild. At 1024x768x32, it is sweet. Being a longtime vet of Echelon, and Echelon Wind Warrior demo, Yager shits all over it in all areas accepting speed of movement inflight, and ship handling. But other than that, the demo is all I thought it would be when I 1st heard of Yager and saw the screens way way back.
