The debut release of the HydroRacers modification for Battlefield 1942 is now available. The mod features water-racing, but also retains the combat and teamplay of the original game, as well as player (or boat, rather) classes. Included are five conquest maps for multiplayer, and one solo map (albeit with fairly busted AI). As this screenshot demonstrates, you can even race under the colors (or color, in our case) of some gaming websites.

Just now available - HydroRacers 1.0b Patch! Changes in 1.0b --------------- 1) Major update to steering code - spinouts should be greatly reduced, steering is top notch again!!. 2) Moved damage (smoke) further back on Type2 boat. 3) Moved camera slightly forward on Type2 boat. 4) Changed damage model on all combat boats (it takes more damage to start smoking). 5) Increased velocity and damage of boat rockets. 6) Slight increase in speed for all combat boats. Type 1 & 3 can do better jumps! 7) Fixed 'underwater jeep driving' exploit. 8 ) Attached boat spawners to platform - helps reduce 'traffic jams' as boats spawn. 9) Reduced 'sinking' effects on platforms - hoping to reduce lag. The 1.0b patch can be applied to either 1.0 or 1.0a and is a cumulative patch. HydroRacers Anti-Lag Patch Released

We have just released an anti-lag patch for HydroRacers. Steering is still a little tricky (easier to spin-out in Type2 boat - but with skill, it can be handled ;-) but we will be tuning things in further patch releases. you can use ase, go to mods and check off other and it's a little easier to find them

ase needs to get updating their filters.. they don't have filters for the new DC or the new EOD map either.. i'm going to go bitch on their forums now

That music kicks ass! Can't find many servers, hopefully ASE will have support soon so I don't have to use the shittastic in game browser. I like it though. Reminds me of Waterworld in some strange way:)

I actually wanted to give this a shot, but the one fileplanet mirror showed missing file, the one US link was just totally broken, and the two other German links are apparently closed to free downloading. Maybe someone could put up a BT or a good mirror?
