hehe, I like that map, it's one of my favorites...

I just play on the Axis side, and very rare on the Allied because of this, thats all So I don't have to worry about this and instead jump into a bomber and use the on-repairing team for a victory

Seriously, it all depends on the people playing in a server. Usually if that's what's going on, it's not too hard to just find another server where people are working as a team.

I've played bob a lot where everyone would work as a team and we held the points for a long time and won.

For some reason not everyone catches on that the factory should be protected right from the first spawn. Since it can withstand the most damage it is the best place to fall back on when there's only 1 spawn left opposed to it being the radar tower which can be taken out quite quickly.

I like playing the game with someone I know with voice chat software (I actually picked up GameVoice so I use their software). This is effective on this map because myself and Soupkin can coordinate a 2 man defense of the factory and alert eachother of incoming bombers and paratroopers.

I really hate being on the allied team when people are spawning with assault or sniper class. It doesn't make sense to me and in no way does it help the team. As for the engineer class I have a tip: While I'm repairing an objective, I will circle around it repairing it and when I run out of engineering "juice" there is an easy way of getting more. Usually engineers are constantly dying all around from the bombs and they are leaving their packs lying around. All you gotta do is pick up a dead man's pack and you have lots more engineering juice, when you're out pickup your old pack if no other engineers have died.

As for being on the axis, the smart players on that team will go right for the factory from the start where no one is manning the AA guns.

Sorry, just felt like adding a few comments about playing the map in hopes you'll start to like it again.

yeah, i had the same expierience...
but it's not just a a problem with the demo, also with the full game; I played that Battle Of Britain map a lot lately, and it just makes no sense to play on the Allied side - no one seems to try to repair something, and it's just impossible to repair a radar tower alone...; some rounds just lasted 3 minutes or so until everything was destroyed... very frustrating...

i think the problem is that it's a free demo and maybe a good amount of the people aren't used to battlefield or are just wanting to try out the new stuff... why they don't try it in their own game, I have no idea. I just remember yesterday when I was playing, six guys in the top floor room of the building across from the church (is that where the jetpack is?). They were just standing there and the axis came and was changing the flag over and I watched on the map how none of them seemed to be moving out to stop it... same thing with the people waiting for the planes. You just have to find a server that people aren't doing this or wait a bit until the shock value dies down.

What do you spect? People to capture a flag and then to sit there?
People want action, so, you capture a flag and then run to capture another flag and get more action.
I know there are airfield camping idiots, but that another story.

what is the deal with these idiots. ever since bf1942 came out, people play the game flat out wrong. its about CAPTURING AND HOLDING THE GODDAMN SPAWN POINTS, NOT DEATHMATCH. I cant take it anymore. There is no defense at all, people just run back and forth like a fucking volleyball game. Its like playing monopoly by spitting on the dice and jamming them up your ass

For those who asked, a simple visit to their homepage answered the question.

It is a limited test release, 251 megs and you need to register on their forums to see all the forums including the one with the link to the file. Of course I made sure I downloaded it before I shared it here

Downloading the demo now... so I'll reserve judgement until I play this. ET was kinda fun except for the friggin' air strike spammers. Nothing like watching your frame rate drop after 6 people drop smoke all at the same time. They should have made it one of the special abilities after you level up... it was rare to find a server where people were smart about it.

Don't like this much at all. I still believe the free Enemy Territory is better than BF1942 as a whole.

You can only play it on UNPURE servers, servers that don't check for a unmodded install of BF1942.
