Republic Complete

Confirming the report that Republic: the Revolution was complete, but that Elixir's insurgency strategy game would not be available until September (story), RepRev has a story up with a quote from Elixir's Demis Hassabis confirming that they have submitted a gold master candidate to Eidos in six languages. The game is not yet officially gold, but even were it already declared approved for manufacture, Demis confirms the game is indeed not going to be available before September, "to ensure a simultaneous worldwide release."

While I have this really nagging feeling that this game isn't going to be more than a : You are in situation 1, your options are A, B, or C. Please input your choice > B You chose B... That is correct! You go on to situation 2! packaged in a semi decent graphics engine (because really, I just can't seem to find the GAMEPLAY anywhere in any preview), I think that this whole "simultaneous worldwide release" (SWR) crap is just that. Crap. You do a SWR if you can get the other versions (read european, asian, australian etc) done at the same time as the American versions. You do NOT delay the American version by two months so it will coincide with the other versions. But hey, Demis, I'm sure you know what you're doing, releasing within a very tiny number of weeks of Half Life 2. Good thinking there. It's nice to see game developers still haven't developed a single braincell among them. Creston Edit : Hey game developers, you know what, why don't we release EVERY GAME in September! Come on guys, it will be great! I mean, absofuckinglutely NOBODY will sell any copies then, but at least you all get to brag that.... well, whatever the fuck it is you brag about when you do something stupid. I mean, there isn't a single decent game out currently, but hey, let's not release our game like right now, nooo, let's release it in September. I hope the fucking stores run out of shelf space so some of this deluge of games is going to stay in the truck. And yes, this whole issue pisses me off supremely. Before you ask.
