Dungeon Siege Add-on Unveiled

The Dungeon Siege Legends of Aranna Q&A on PC.IGN.Com talks with Gas Powered Games' Chris Taylor and Mad Doc's Ian David about Legends of Aranna, the upcoming expansion for Dungeon Siege. Here's Chris on the idea behind the add-on:

This new expansion pack is a collaboration of GPG, Mad Doc and Microsoft and takes place in the same world as the original game. Working closely with Mad Doc, we wanted to continue the adventure and yet tell another story that takes the player on a fantastic journey through the most interesting and lush environments. Aside from a completely new series of fabulous locations, players will notice UI enhancements, new monsters and a massive amount of new stuff throughout the game.

YES! indeed! i'd given up hope of their being any sort of expansion for this game - after all we've been waiting for almost 2 years now without any mention of one... as the_culture says, DS certainly wasn't hardcore RPG - but it was flawlessly executed, cinematically beautiful, very intutive, and as addictive as Diablo. hopefully they can keep all that intact while maybe incorporating a more fleshed-out plot and some better dialog with NPC's.

DS was one of those rare games i played all the way through without distraction, let's hope this expansion offers the same level of quality.

I really enjoyed Dungeon Siege. I know many people complained about it's approach to RPGs, but the seamless engine rendering and intuitive interface made it really easy to pick up and play. Plus, the music, a ton of weapons, and the environments made it one of my favorite games last year.

I'm definitely looking forward to this add-on.
