America's Army Update

A new SITREP on the America's Army Website (thanks Frans) has word on the next planned update for the Unreal-engine America's Army shooter. Included is a word on the new combat medic MOS complete with training missions, a new damage model, new missions, a new interface, new character models, Punkbuster anti-cheating support, and more.

Looks like the conservatives are really fishing for excuses for their bad government. Be better off if Clinton were still in office not this dumbass bush who has screwed up the government and the world.

And Al Gore was the far better candidate. Fact is, if you kept all your shit in your own backyard it wouldn't matter that much. Problem is, George Bush is a retard when it comes to upsetting the rest of the world. It will all end in tears.

#24 Clinton inherited the Somalia intervention from Bush (Snr), it was planned before he came to office. It would probably have ended up the same way if Bush had been re-elected.

While I agree the events of Oct. 3rd would have remained the same, I get the feeling that Bush Sr. would have stayed in Somalia and allowed the military to accomplish its mission. Now whether or not that would have helped Somalia in the long run is a matter for debate but we would have bagged Aidide (sp) rather than pull out of the country.

Haha.(lmfao) You are trippin, dude. How the hell did Bush screw up the world? He is only the US president not God Almighty. Besides the world has been plenty screwed up long before he took office... and that has absolutely nothing to do with this game.

Dude, this game is great.

And like they said it was advertising money already spent.

Besides we all have Bill Clinton to blame for the downward spiral the economy was already in before Bush took office.

And here in Cali we have Gray Davis's (soon to be voted out of office) ass to blame. Not that it helps any. And haven't you seen T3 yet?

Heh it's free to me, I live in the UK

Great game. Can't wait for the medic class, although I dread all those newbies spaming "Need a MEDIC!!!" messages

Now the Kosovo war is another thing altogether, Clinton should have been impeached for that one not some stupid sex-scandal. Serbs fight Islamic terrorism on their own soil and get bombed for it? Madness.

Personally, I think this is some fo the best use of taxpayer dollars I have ever seen. The budget for Americas Army is about what it would cost to do two TV commercials. But Americas Army is much more effective at getting out the message. Plus, its one of the best multi player FPS ever.

For the poeple from other countries, if you boycott this game on some "principle" then you are just depriving yourself of one of the best gaming experiences that can be had online. Its free. Just download it and play it. Then form your own opinion.

And for you "Bush Basher's" that think America's Army is a frivolous waste of taxpayer's dollars by the Bush administraion, work on this game was actually started during Clinton's administration. So if you want to get mad at an administration and point finger's point at your boy Clinton.

As far as the economy tanking because of Bush, only an ill educated moron with no concept of either macro or micro economics would make that statement. For one thing, a President actually has very little control over the economy. The policies that Presidents implement take years to effect the economy, not months. The economy was slowing when Bush took office. Then, if you hadn't noticed, there was this little thing called 9/11 that happened which had a very large negative effect on the economy.

Fortunately for America and the world Clinton didn't have to deal with a crisis of this magnatude. When he was faced with a crisis like the one in Somalia, he failed miserably. He was too busy flirting with interns to face the tough problems of the real world.

Anyway, its nice to see these threads always become flame fests. I may have to start ignoring them altogether.

That sounds like a problem that precicely NOBODY here can fix.
It's YOUR government that keeps upping the defence budget.
Personally I think it was a great idea, as I'm currently in the process of enlisting into the armed forces (Canadian, but forces non the less)

You guys are right! Sorry, I flew off the handle - I was reacting to the almost half TRILLION dollar budget for our millitary/intelligence aparatus. After seeing the public abuses of these agencies over the last few years become more brazen I was a little upset..

apologies....

I always love seeing how politics and/or religion can stir up the most shit. Those are two things you never bring up in the work place. I learned that a long time ago. But since we are not in the work place (at least not for me) I figured it would be fun to see the response.

Plus AA:O seems to bring it's own flame wars to the mix. I have seen quite a few here on Blue's. With everything from the Anti-America American's ranting about everything and the Anti-American Majority (that means all you foreigners) ranting about how we American's are so this and that. Mostly I get a kick out of it. Everybody blaming everybody else. And not excepting that we are all basically the same but with different cultures. So look down on us dumb Americans if you like. If it makes you feel better.

It's free entertainment of itself. Now back to the subject.

The only complaint that anyone can really say about AA:O is the training you must go through to get the different qualifications and to open up the other maps and missions. To me that's the only thing annoying about the game. But even that isn't that bad. This is a superb game. And it's free to all. Even if you don't like that fact.

Edit: I was also joking. Forgive me. That part about cutting off your balls just came to me. That actually happened. A cult in the LA area did that a few years back when some big comet was nearing Earth. Strange but true.

... worth the free download, and just keeps getting better.

It's a pity we haven't heard anything about the stryker, rail system weapons, special ops and law yet, but hey, they're pretty cool free thing to keep looking forward to.

I don't really see the point in getting all political, it's a game, it's free, it's fun. Quibbling about it being american seems to be cutting off your nose to spite your face. As for taxes, how many times are existing taxes used in a way that allows you to have fun or benefit? At this rate I'd quite like to see the military simulation that Operation flashpoint was used for released for free in a similar fashion, that's like Desert Combat ++. (although perhaps wait for the OF2 engine, woot)

Anyway, Hoooah.

actually, when Clinton left office we had a multi-billion dollar surplus. in one year Bush squandered it all.

I'm from Europe, so it's free for me. Haven't downloaded it, though, and hell - if I liked it I'd probably be embarrased to admit it.

I refused to download it. If it were "European Army" do you think the yanks would've given one collective inch of print to it? Nope.

And here in Cali we have Gray Davis's (soon to be voted out of office) ass to blame.

I don't know if that'll happen though. I'm also a Californian and while I dislike Davis MORE than the next man, I'd still have a really hard time signing the recall petition if I was asked. Still, the recall seems to picking up steam so we'll just have to see what happens this fall.
