Terminator 3: War of the Machines Announced

Atari sends the announcement of production on Terminator 3: War of the Machines, a game tie-in with the upcoming sci-fi sequel (not to be confused with the previously announced Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines). The game is in the works at Hungarian developer Clever's Games, and is described like this: "a singleplayer and online multiplayer first person shooter set in the ravaged battlefields of the Tech Com-versus-SkyNet conflict from the Terminator world, to personal computer (PC) this winter." The announcement is accompanied by the first batch of screenshots, and in a timely touch, GameSpy has posted a Q&A with Peter Wyse, producer on the project. Here's a bit more from the announcement:

In Terminator 3: War of the Machines' vast multiplayer mode, players will compete online as either a member of Tech Com or as a SkyNet Terminator model. Eight playable character classes are available for SkyNet and Tech Com forces and up to 32 players can wage ware in each server. Humans will have the advantage of cunning and stealth while SkyNet will bring to bear the awesome power of overwhelming force, brutality and durability. Each class will offer unique advantages and disadvantages in numerous battle situations. For example, SkyNet T-900 Endoskeletons can utilise their unique vision to quickly and easily identify even the most camouflaged opponents, but will be unable to heal or repair themselves in combat like their human counterparts.

In the single player campaign, players will power on as the Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, with full likeness and voice acting, to wage war alongside SkyNet's mechanical forces against the human Tech Com revolutionaries. Once captured, however, the player is reprogrammed by Tech Com to fight for the humans and the player battles against his former robotic allies.

The graphics look descent except for the lack of color contrasts. And did anyone else notice the bad distance fogging for the flying machines? Anyway Atari has time to work on that I guess. The multiplayer combat sounds interesting, but how effective are the human weapons going to be against the machines?
