Out of the Blue

Scientific American: Bottled Twaddle -- Is bottled water tapped out? is an article on bottled water (thanks Mike Martinez), and some misconceptions on the subject. I saw the episode of Penn and Teller's show that this references, and it was a shocking insight into suggestibility, not to mention funny as hell, watching the dinner patrons remark about the different qualities of various bottles of water that just minutes earlier were being filled from a tap... through a garden hose!

Stories of the Day: Prof puts apocalypse odds at 50-50. Gotta love an optimist.

Immense potential lies in amazingly small things.

Thanks Mike Martinez.

I like my drinking water solution: I bought a few 500 ml bottles of Deja Blue water (for the cool squirt cap like Gaterade bottles). When one's empty, I fill it up with filtered tap water (I have an under the counter water filter), put it in the fridge and grab one of the other bottles, which is already cold.

So I dirty no classes. That alone is pretty damn nice. I drink filtered tap water, which is cheaper than bottled water. And it's always cold!
