They were both anti-US but they weren't really in league I don't think. Haven't read too much on this either, but AFAIK they only went as far as signing a non-agression pact with Germany. I don't believe there was any sharing of arms like within the Axis powers in Europe.
This reminds of one of the explanations why anime has a propensity for depicting the future as post-apocalyptic (Neo-Tokyo, etc.) Apparently it's because they've seen it first hand all too often (Hiroshima, Nagasaki and the major earthquakes.) |

The ultimate reason for the revolution was the English government being able to impose taxes and local leadership without any say by the colonists.
Crap. The revolution was all about a bunch of people getting greedy and wanting to keep the whole deal to themselves. George Washington was a terrorist who broke all established rules of warfare between states and that tradition has been carried up to the present day illegal and unjustified invasion of Iraq. Throw in an elite running corporations that dictate your life and you're indistinguishable from the so-called evil British Empire you got rid of. America's become the enemy is purported to hate with none of the advantages. |

Disgusting sex fetishes...
Apparently a lot of the weird Japanese sex stuff comes from the fact that during their wars, and I believe WW2 was one of these, they believed sex and sexual relief were necessities for their front line troops. So they picked up lots of young women and girls with promises and some career or another, and used them as sex slaves for their soldiers. A lot of the girls were very young and had no idea what they were getting into.
They were forced into having sex with a lot of people, and given no breaks, hence they had to pee, poop, whatever right where they were.
For a lot of the soldiers it was their first experience of sex up till then, and for some their only experience in their life. So a lot of people associate sex with that kind of thing.
So I've read anyway.
Also, they weren't really allies if my memory serves. They were both anti-US but they weren't really in league I don't think. My history may be a bit rusty, so any info on this would be appreciated!

The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has killed two birds with one stone, as far as I can see. The people making software to distort the presentation of movies (to make them 'PC') are on a loser from here on in. The movie as made as intended to be seen by the movie companies will certainly fit nicely under this interpretation, no 'particularized message' required, and the 'medium is of no legal consequence' to qualify for protection.

Hard to tell if you're just some troll, but I'm taking the bate regardless Haley
The framers of the Constitution meant to protect all forms of protest (written, spoken, drawn, etc..) from infringment by the government.
The purpose was to ensure that if the government ever corrupted the power of the corrupt would be limited. Videogames/CGI cannot be excluded from the list of protected forms of expression simply because they did not exist when the consitution was written.
At any rate, infringements on the right to create CGI/videogames could easily lead into infringements of othe rights. It creates a very dangerous precident..
There are ways a consumer can control what kind of videogames are released, and a parent can easily control the media their children intake, but this cannot be left to the government. |

However there is a small catch... There are laws for sale of porn to minors... however there are no current games (at least of my knowledge) that are considered porn. There are. CDV actually makes a few, in fact. But like porn movies, you aren't likely to find them in your local Best Buy. |

In the UK it's an enforced thing. Films are rated 12, 15, 18 and you are not legally allowed to let someone younger than that see them.
Games are similar.
It seems laws in the US are slacker.

"Access to films, videos, DVDs is restricted on the grounds that people don't want kids watching violence, sex, drug abuse etc. You don't want to be giving kids access to that kind of thing when they're at a formative stage, and as and when it comes time for them to be learning about that kind of thing it should be the parent explaining it so the kid/child/teenager/whatever is able to understand its purpose in the film or whatever.
As games get more realistic, and they will likely soon become photo-realistic, they should be seen in a similar way. As such games should be restricted in a similar way to films.
I don't buy all the stuff about games making you a killer, like I don't think DooM had anything to do with Columbine, but games, films, books, WHATEVER will influence a child. Games should be restricted in the same way that films are, but not more restricted. That would be stupid."
Games are ALREADY treated just like movies so why make any more laws?
Movies have ratings... Games have ratings
Theaters, Rental Stores, General Stores have the option to restrict sale of movies to minors, Stores have option to restrict sale of games to minors
There is no law saying 'R' movies are restricted to minors.... the theaters enforce their own rules and it is perfectly legal to let anyone pay for or watch 'R' rated movies.
However there is a small catch... There are laws for sale of porn to minors... however there are no current games (at least of my knowledge) that are considered porn.

Not to sound too sexist, but from my own entirely and unscientific anecdotal evidence, the way a lot of women vote frightens me. Bring up the famous "It's all for the children" reason, and they seem to fall for it every time.
All those poor women need to have their suffraging stopped! It's inhumane!
I vote based on my own wallet and desires, and I'll also vote for anything that takes power away from the government. I guess living in a large city and having to deal with the INS (for my wife) makes me realize even more how the "services" the gov't is supposed to provide are manned by people who are unemployable otherwise, with the exception of a few (who end up getting fired, no doubt).
Anyone who thinks the gov't does a good job should have to deal with the INS and Social Security Administration at least once. Or maybe there should be a civil service requirement for those who turn 18. They have to work at a federal social services office of some type, i.e. Welfare, Medicare, INS, etc. That'd be an experience.

It's amusing that these forms of expression are often blamed for the downfall of American society and not the easy access to guns or decline in parental responsibility. Just waiting for the report about someone being bludgeoned to death by a copy of GTA:VC...

My point was, before you get your back up, was to go as close to the source as you can, don't take your teachers thoughts, etc. as gospel. And I didn't. I stated that he said it that way, and it was a good way of putting it. If I had taken the phrase as my own, I'd have been lying. |

I didn't state an opinion. I didn't say you stated one.
My point was, before you get your back up, was to go as close to the source as you can, don't take your teachers thoughts, etc. as gospel. I didn't even intend that statement to be directed to you only. Just an observation on the power that teachers can exert over their students.
That's all, nothing more.
