Dark Fall Announced

The Adventure Company sends along the announcement of plans for a game called Dark Fall, not to be confused with Darkfall Online. The press release is fairly bite-sized, so here it is in its entirety:

Toronto, Ontario, June 2nd 2003 – The Adventure Company today announced that it will publish Dark Fall on PC-CD. Terms of this exclusive deal with the UK’s XXV Productions were not disclosed.

Dark Fall is a tale of the supernatural, which sends adventurers into a mysterious world where a ghostly presence is ever apparent. After receiving a cryptic voice message, gamers are sent to the picturesque English village of Dowerton. Once there, they discover that although the place is empty…..they are not alone and must explore the surrounding area to solve an ancient mystery. Finding artifacts, ancient documents and a valuable journal, gamers will soon realize that the area holds a history of disappearances and hauntings dating back centuries. Armed with ghost hunting gadgets, and using the clues left behind by the spirits, the mystery of Dark Fall unravels…

“Dark Fall is definitely one of those titles that adventure gamers have been anticipating for a long time,” commented, Richard Wah Kan, CEO of DreamCatcher Interactive Inc.*, “…..they won’t be disappointed!”

The game is a blend of adventure and suspense, set in beautiful eerie environments that capture the imagination. It features a number of challenging puzzles and is set in 40 different locations. Gamers will enjoy more than 25 hours of game-play and relish the haunting background sounds and music.

The game is set to ship in July 2003.

*The Adventure Company is a division of DreamCatcher Interactive Inc.

And yet another Fantasy MOG makes its appearence. Why someone doesn't do the post-apocalypse (Fallout) style MOG or a good sci-fi one (AO isn't it) is beyond me.

Darkfall is currently being made by Razorwax, and it's a MMORPG. While Dark Fall, what the article is about, is something else.
Darkfall started it's making in norway, they moved to greece after getting a publisher and all that plus a bunch of new people to work on this fine game (darkfall).

I am confused.... so the game was made in Norway and published outside of North America.. so now this Toronto company is going to remake the game and republish it to North America?!?!?!

The Adventure Company is headquartered in Toronto, and since they're the publisher, they send out the press release.

Incidentally, it looks like the game has already been published outside the US by the developer. Their web site (http://www.xxvproductions.co.uk/darkfall/dowerton.html) has quite a few reviews from last year, along with a short demo (10mb).

Why does it say Toronto?
Isn't this game from Norway?
