Half-Life 2 Trailer

IGN's Half-Life 2 Media Page now offers a link to a Half-Life 2 teaser (the link was broken for a bit after being posted, but seems to work properly now). The 11.9 MB movie is in QuickTime format. There are also Half-Life 2 Impressions on GameSpot with a detailed rundown on what they saw, concluding with: "Frankly, we were blown away by what we saw of Half-Life 2 here, and though this was a rolling demo (albeit of real-time gameplay), Valve proceeded to demonstrate the bug bait level in action, which looked just as good as in the rolling demo. Based on the 25-minute Half-Life 2 demo, we can say with reasonable certainty that this is definitely a game worth looking forward to."

*Ahem*

I'll be one of the happy people saying FUCK YOU, Fileplanet, as I download a torrent of the 500 meg video from here :

http://torrentse.cx/stats.php?info_hash=29193529491fe1ee315c9c8ee392ff83ab4f846d

in other words, GET TO DOWNLOADING! The more people that download the torrent the faster the transfer will go. SO get to it!

thanks.

I was trying to download it using "Flashget". Competition won't allow me to do this.

Using Explorer instead. Going fine.

Do you know where I can get a copy of "bit Torrent"??

I've tried using google to find a working copy but the bit torrent file I download from the homepage gives me "non-Win32 Application" errors when I try to install it.

Thanks

I've got a better idea!! Why don't you carefully section the .mov file up into it's (8?|9?) scenes and then send them to someone who can host??
Then we can recombine the sections or keep the scenes separate.

Is this a shakycam movie, or an actual .mov of the combined demos themselves??

It is completely understandable; after all, there are only a...bajillion posts to read through.

Thinking he is almost slamming HL2 while even Doom 3 has many similar faults,

Probably because it is a HL fan site and that's the only game he's interested in.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking the same thing. Especially since it seems to be a HL2 fan site. Although he does temper his criticism with enthusiasm, as well.

(By the way, sorry for re-posting the link. I didn't check far enough back to see if it had already been posted.)

There is a short article at (http://city17.halflife.org/art_sourceengine.php) that discusses some perceived shortcomings of Valve's Source engine.

Mind you, I'm not concerned about the items the article touches on: the 25 minute E3 video speaks for itself. Nonetheless, it's an interesting read.

194. you've got great eyes baby May 17, 2003, 12:59 MrShoop

I saw the demo at E3 yesterday, and one thing that doesn't come across in the compressed video clips I have seen is how good the eyes look. The glisten and look wet, and are reflective like real eyes (not to mention that they move and follow you around). It gives it a really lively look. The demo was stunning, and by far most impressive thing at the show.

anyone seen the full 25 minute trailer posted on usenet yet? alt.binaries.multimedia anyone?

193. Re: MIRROR NEEDED May 17, 2003, 12:49 GTAZ

I downloaded the 500 meg quicktime movie from Fileplanet.. it is the entire demo at e3 and not just snippets like Gamespots.. from the Opening shots of Gman changing from 1998 to the new gman all the way to him saying "Just like Old Times" Great resolution, although not like seeing it in person I am sure, but alot better then Gamespots. Too bad I don't have 500 megs of webspace with unlimited bandwith to upload it too

Yes. This is huge. The Gamespot videos had fading colours and could have been much better. This is more then twice the size of the gamespot videos. So, someone with a subscription to Fileplanet upload this puppy to another server, please, for our sake.
