New Half-Life Servers

A new version 1.1.1.1 of the Half-Life dedicated server is now available for Windows and for Linux. The new release features an updated CD key system, a new Win32 GUI, HLTV changes, new and updated console variables, bug fixes and lots more. There is a full Linux installer on 3D Gamers, FilePlanet (registration required), and FileShack (registration required), a Linux update on 3D Gamers, FilePlanet (registration required), and FileShack, a full Windows installer on 3D Gamers, FilePlanet, and FileShack (registration required) and a Windows update on 3D Gamers, FilePlanet (registration required), and FileShack.com.

Is this update for servers running counter-strike as well?

jup. although it does not update your CS installation it updates your Half-Life dedicated server code which is needed to run any HL server...

Actually the new version of the dedicated server was included with DoD 1.0 client, and was installed on everyones machine that installed DoD 1.0, along with a new version of HLTV.

No answer from the DoD team why this is yet.

Of course you have to tippy-toe around the official DoD fourms or you get banned. They don't want any negative posts in their fourm before the retail DoD hits the stores, don't wanna lose any money from complainers heh.

Hopefully this means that the new Client patch will be arriving soon. I imagine it'll be the last and that they're doing a lot with it, HL2 will no doubt take precedence.

It's also nice to see Valve ridding itself of it's relationship with WON.
