Human, they haven't exactly released it have they?
I'll admit it, I was wrong. I fully expected Valve to simply rest on their laurels, or to turn whatever it was they had been working on into another Prey / DNF fiasco. Quite frankly, I'm still not convinced it won't be. Putting out some screenshots and press releases after five years still don't make a game.
However, I'll be pleasantly surprised if they actually DO release something this year, but then again, I also don't really believe that HL2 will be the new "best game ever". The bar is set extremely high in this current day, and with stuff such as Deus Ex2, STALKER and GTA3 et al (apparently) providing very unlinear / open ended gameplay, I just don't see the Kings of Linearity wowing the world. Half Life 2 (if it comes out) better have some VERY massive changes where gameplay is concerned.
Then again, pretty much every gaming magazine in existence, sad little retro geeks that they are, still calls the original Half Life the Best Game Ever... One wonders what they will be ranting about for the next ten years.
Et tu, PCGamer?
But once again, I'll admit I was wrong, Valve has apparently been working on SOMETHING. If that something is just some screenshots, an actual game or an actual GOOD game that will ever get released, remains to be seen.

I have no opinion on this game yet. I thoroughly enjoyed the first one and all the expansions. Never played kiddiestrike or any of the other mods though.
I'm not getting my hopes up for this game because if I do I will be nothing but disappointed.
P.S. Leafs suck just like I've been saying all along bwahaha

The graphics look very nice from where I'm sitting. I'm hoping they fix a few of (what appear to be) lights.. they look a little fuzzy. The models look excellent.
Here's to hoping I can play through this ones single player as much as I did Half-Life's (15 times?).

All they need to do now is releas it on time. The graphics arent very good but pretty nice for todays games, I just hope this wont be a "DNF-Diakatana-Breed-Halo" case.

One might consider it worthwhile to check out the front page of http://www.halflife.org/ That would look good in my trophy room.

So, is there any mention if Sierra's still holding onto the Half-Life cash cow, or is Activision the lucky company now?

Between Matrix Reloaded, & E3 - HL2... It's gonna be a great month as far as I'm concerned.
My instincts were correct on the setting for the sequel. Although I didn't predict Europe.
Graphics don't look TOOO amazing but then again this is a game that was started long ago and is soon to be released.
Yay Valve! Now where the hell is TF2?! Bundled for free with HL2 I hope. :-P

thanks unmaker. dig that way tall three-legged spider/mech thing in the first shot! very "war of the worlds". the skeletal movement tech of mechanical and alien characters in the first half life was very cool looking; if its seen any improvement since then, this spider guy should move well. and dig the scale of it too.

I dunno... I don't really like the direction this seems to be going... HL2 looks to be all futuristic and such. I think I perferred the old realistic look.
