i am just laughing my ass off at one "Max Wattenberg" for posting scans he shouldn't be posting, then posting a scan of the cover with his name and address on it!! What? was he just so excited to get the scans posted he NEVER saw the address label, or he did see it but no connection was made because he was mumbling over and over "must. get. scans. posted." classic. 20 says he doesn't get in any trouble.

I'll verify these facts and more as soon as I get home (assuming I'm lucky enough to get my issue today.)
VERY GOOD NEWS BTW
edit: I won't be doing any of the above until at least tomorrow.

HL 2 tidbits from firingsquadposter |

"My Half Life 2 PC Gamer came in the mail today. Some interesting quick things I've read so far: - Girl character is not playable - Same author of story as the first Half Life - Interactive scripted scenes - Barney and the G-Man both get face lifts of sorts - There will be a Half Life 3 - Half Life 2 comes out Sept. 30 - The Plot: There is a new alien invasion and some of the Xen aliens are now your allies. - The game takes place in a Eastern European city. - The game supposedly will be able to run on a DX6-compatible TNT card - Mentions a more robust mod making expierence - Cool in-game psychics
Final paragraph in the article that I thought was kind of cool: "THE LAST DEMO is over, and i's the scripted sequence to end all scripted sequences. Or... was it scripted? "We're going on this ride with the player," says Gabe Newell assuringly. "And we intednt to scare the crap out of you.""
has anyone else had the urge to play through HL1 again?! with the systems some of us have now (though not me :(, we could really crank the visuals - AA, anisotropy, etc.

Yeah, that "magagine" typo is my fault. I was in a rush prepping the image to distribute and made an error in Photoshop. But you could also say that I was subconsciously poking fun at our own policy of copyrighting pics and screens. That being said, I've sent a corrected image for Blues to upload, if they want.

Looks like he's wearing a turtleneck under the old Mark 5. Must help from chafing. And I was hoping he would be sprouting a mullet for HL2.

You just pop on another socket! Surely she's carrying a whole set. Now that you put it that way it would be easy to add to the game. Instead of shell casings she would drop sockets.
I'm sure that will be incorporated in the game.
We better get line credits!

Good to see they've identified the risk in releasing a pt 2 (it might lack the impact of the first game) and used the one method always sure to rope in the punters: skirt.
