TOP GUN Combat Zones Demo

The TOP GUN Combat Zones Website is now offering a PC demo of this jet combat game based on the Tom Cruise movie. Interestingly, neither that website, nor the Virgin Interactive Entertainment Website has any indication that a PC version of the game is actually in the works, as this is a GameCube version of the game originally released on the PS2. A mirror can be found on Gamer's Hell.

but you don't know the meaning of the word "fear" until you've played the Commodore 64 port of Top Gun

Imagine - pseudo polygonal/vector based graphics on a C64. But I still remember the music of the game to this day - C64 music will do that to you.

Er...wasn't the game easy???

As much of a gamer as I am, it doesn't mean I'm GOOD at it!

Actually, I quite enjoyed Top Gun: Hornet's Nest. It came out for PC around 1997-98. It was arcade all the way but fun nonetheless...

The NES version beats this thing out of the water. Reminded me of britany spears dance party with wings and a machine gun. BAAAAAAAAAD!
2/10

Er...wasn't the game easy???

Excluding the NES version, a game that I played way too much, I really have not liked any of the Top Gun games. Still, that one NES game made it all worth it.

Glad that the Miyazaki DVDs will "officially" be out next week,
Ray

I just remember the NES Top Gun game. I hated landing on that dang aircraft carrier!

I remember that!!! Nothing like overshooting the deck by 100 feet!

The only way I could beat that game was by holding the nose of the plane up through the entire mission. Then most of the missiles missed you. It was an exploit, but it worked...

Off the top of my head, ummmmm... 4! Don't ask me to name them or how I know that, but I know for the PC side, it's 4...

...just how many games have tried to capitalize on the Top Gun name now?

Fearing a PC port of a GC port of a PS2 game :|,
