On Jedi Knight III

Jedi Knight II .Net has posted up summaries of what's found in a new issue of the German GameStar magazine about plans for JediKnight III, the next installment in the Dark Forces series hinted at earlier this year (story). Here's a bit from the summary: "Raven Software is trying to put a lot more emphasis on the Jedi’s favourite weapon. While there will still be conventional weapons (even more than in JK II), the current estimate says that around 70% of the game will be spent using a saber." Thanks Dac and Ant.

Heck, if people want real swordplay, they should be playing mouse VSIM mode in Die by the Sword. The mouse movements control your sword arm in real time. And if you're not quite that hardcore, go get a copy of Blade. At least that has cool combos a la Mortal Kombat with weapons. Both, I would bet, are light-years ahead in the swordplay department, than JK. You guessed right. The LS combat in JK2 is very basic, and if you've played either DBTS or Blade\Severance, as you say, then you've been spoiled in terms of third person melee combat. If you're execting something even close to that with the light sabre in JK2 you'll be very disappointed.
