German gaming site Gamestar.de (thanks HalfLife.de) has an article up (translatable by Babel Fish) speculating that Valve plans on releasing Half-Life 2 by the end of this year. Supporting their theory that the game of the year sequel is more imminent than the lack of updates on its progress would indicate are hints they've uncovered in an NVIDIA conference call, quotes from an ATI press release, and a comment from Valve's own Robin Walker.

Oh yeah, the other thing is that do you really think that sierra will publish half-life 2 and condition zero at the same time? since CZ has been moved back to Q4 this year, it seems unlikely they'd bring out the two titles at the same time..

your assuming that HL2 will be premeiring on the PC. theres a good possibility that won't happen if MS backs up to Valve's door with a dump-truck full of cash to make it an XBox premier.
