Looks awesome...
I was on vacation and when I came back there were all sorts of DX2 previews!

Anyhow, they said that they were only aiming for 30fps in a couple of the previews. Hmmmm... seems a bit low. I wonder what sort of machine they were trying to pull 30 on. I'll probably have to upgrade.

Teddy: You don't know who you are anymore.
Leonard Shelby: Of course I do. I'm Leonard Shelby. I'm from San Francisco.
Teddy: No, that's who you were! Maybe it's time you started investigating yourself.
There was only one catch and that was Catch-22

I'm stoked about this game too. They put a lot of thought into the story as well as the look and gameplay. It will be gaming gold.

He cut the possum's face off then cut around the eye socket. In the center of the belt buckle, where the possum's eye would be, he has placed a small piece of wood from his old '52 Ford's home made railroad tie bumper. Damn, he misses that truck.

I'll definitely be buying a new computer for this one when it comes out.
God, I wish I had brought my copy of DX to college.

Gamespy says it's scheduled for June, but even they are skeptical. I think late summer (nothern hemisphere) to autumn is more likely.

Ive been saying this for atleast the past year now. DX2 is THE game I am MOST looking forward to in 2003 (this is even before we knew they were using the higher end rendering effects). Forget DOOM III...thats kids stuff. This game is for adults - adults who appreciate the incredible depth, variety, open-ended gameplay and sheer subversive intelligence of the first one. There's a REASON I played the first one 4 times completely through. I havent done that with any other SP game INCLUDING Half-Life.

The more I read all these previews the more I get absolutely giddy at the idea of having this game to play this year...The fact is that I have never been more engaged, intrigued, enrapt or enthralled with a PC game before or after DX. To my point, I was in a Micro Warehouse late last fall and this guy and his girlfriend were browsing the PC game aisles looking for a new game to play...I overheard them talking about Wolfenstein, MOH, and other FPS and I decided to pipe in...

Me: "So, you guys are looking for a new game to play??"
Him: "Yea, any recommendations?"
Me: "Well I notice you are looking at first person shooters...have you played one before?"
Him: "Yea a couple"
Me: "Mmmm.....what genre?"
Him: "Well, Ive played Half Life and a few others but my favorite by far would have to be Deus Ex..."

Yea baby.....

Well, the gamespot review said that they had reached an important state in that all the levels were in place, as well as gameplay etc, so I think they've kinda reached "Alpha"ish state, and are now finetuning and bughunting.

So I'd say that they're vamping up news exposure just because they now KNOW what's going to be in it

This one had BETTER come out this year or I'm going to be one very sad and depressed gameplayer

Edit : Oooh Oooh Oooh Oooh *hops up and down in glee*. It's scheduled for JUNE!!!!!! (imagine a really big smiley here).

hmmm, been a bit more of DX2 newsish stuff lately; does this mean they're making sure we don't forget about it (not likely), or that they're getting closer to completion and are starting up the hype machine?

Colonel Klink, why have you foresaken me?
