Hey Blue, something's wonky with today's OotB message board layout - - it's so wide it won't fit w/o side scrolling. That's not a problem with the board, but with the obscenely long link posted by Hump in #7. It only wraps at the question mark, and the remainder is too long so you'll get the horizontal scrollbar.

I bought mine just because they look so hip and snappy. Now, in addition to helping me pick up hot chicks, they're also keeping me alive? Wow! This product ranks right up there with Velcro, the George Forman Grill, and Depend Undergarments.

The effectiveness of drugs does wear down over time, of course (unless you're taking styrofoam pills), however a study conducted by the FDA, comissioned by the Air Force, shows that the expiration dates provided by the drug companies are 'conservative' to put it lightly. Here's a URL with some details:
http://www.af.mil/news/Mar2000/n20000329_000499.html
There is now a shelf-life extension program based on this study, and some of the expiration dates have been extended by years! It appears that their effectiveness degrades more as a result of how they are stored than their assigned expiration date.

Blue, I don't know softball that much , but did larry david and yourself played at the same time? He looks pretty old to me... Yup, we played a season together. This was over 10 years ago, so he was in his mid-forties at the time, and part of the beauty of softball is the wide ranges of ages participating... we had guys in their 20s and guys in their 50s on that team. |

Yes they do expire. Actually the chemical bonds break apart. That's why if you open a good bottle of asprin(neutral to alk.) and an expired bottle(vinager) they smell different.
Same goes for most medicines; they do break down expire, become contaminated, ect. Even after a period of time you'll get bateria or molds and fungus that will eat the broken down chemicals. And also once the chemicals sperate they don't do exactly the same job, either work worse, not at all, or can kill you. |

Man, that Zap stuff is pretty wacked out. What's even more wacked out is that when I was a student at MIT, my TA for 6.013 (Electromagnectic Fields) did this research. He was a great guy and teacher, but he was always a little wierd. I would joke that he must have used himself as a test subject too many times, but I didn't think he really did use himself! I always thought they got some gullible volunteer. He would tell us about how he was up late the night before doing experiments that would prevent people from being able to count. It was neat stuff.

Anon, you were right, twisting them around does reverse the effects!!
got another one of those damn nigerian email thingys!
"I am MAHOYI BELLO, a cousin to the Vice Presidentof the Federal Republic of Nigeria (Alhaji Atiku) and Executive Director of SADIQ PETROLUEM LTD.I have decided to contact you for this business proposal based on the mutual understanding I know that can exist between us, having known that people of your Country are trustworthy. Since May 1999 when the new Government came to power, large sums of money have been recovered from our past military leaders who siphoned money from Nigeria and deposited it in offshore accounts in Europe,America,Asia and some parts of Africa, for their own selfish benefits. This happened during the military regime,Now we are under a democratically elected government. This fund was among the money recovered and seized by the Federal Government of Nigeria... Therefore, we urged you to assist us provide a very vital offshore account, where the sum of US$25,000,000.00 (Twenty Five Million) US Dollars will be transferred for safe keeping. Presently, this money is in a foreign Country I cannot mention now. Please note that other information will be detailed to you on the receipt of your reply. My elder cousin and I have agreed to give you for this transaction 30% of the total amount remitted while 60%is for me and Cousin Atiku, for the purchase of foreign investments, with your assistance after the money have been disbursed, while 10% is for expenses both of us will incur. Note, I have been mandated by my elder cousin to handle this deal with you, due to his position in the Nigerian Government as the second citizen."
so then, 10% of 25mil is 2.5mil assuming that I pick up a mere 1% of the tab thats still 250K which is more than I have ever had!
and apparently people from my country can be trusted. which is impressive as im english and using an american account,...
but people still fall for it, amazing.
now im gonna go buy some of that amazing hair regrower spray from ebay!!

Yeah, I was gonna buy these myself.. had the credit out and everything, then I stopped and thought "What if I accidentally put them on WRONG?" I mean, will that cause them to have the reverse effect? Lack of energy, acclerated ageing.. that would be BAD.
All is not lost, though.. I'm looking at some of this guys other auctions. He's got a fine range of quality products. I'm trying to decide between the "Herbal Viagra" and the "Bust Enhancer" right now. |

Did Bender stink in real life? Well, he would have stunk in left field, because he was a pitcher... He was a pretty good pitcher, fair control and fair stuff (most softball pitchers tend to be good at one and bad at the other).
I think I'd be pissed if I was Bender. Actually it was (Phil) Bender who was the one that told me about the episode all those years before I saw it... I think that any bothersome aspects about the "stinks" comment were more than offset by the fact that he was mentioned on the show.

I've always wondered if cold medications as well as aspirin and Tylenol really do expire or if they just want us to buy more. Does anyone know the facts on this?
Also Blue, if I were you I would think of keeping the old cold meds around because they literally don't make them the way they used to. You may or may not remember this but a couple years ago they were forced to take out a key ingredient that had caused a couple people (out of millions) to have a stroke. At the time my beloved Alka-Seltzer Cold was taken off the shelves for a few months only to be replaced by the ineffective crap they sell now. I still have around five packets of the old stuff that I'm keeping for an emergency.
