yeah, I think the pack have looked pretty weak the last two, uh, weeks. unfortunate - and Driver was doing so well for me in my football pool^1, him being out is gonna be bad. I think the real story is the banged up D. The pack aren't the high scoring team of old, they just usually luck out and win by a TD or two. With both the falcons and the pack coming in off losses, should still be a good game. Vick is sharp; fun to watch.

I think the Eagles got a decent shot this year (have friends in philly, actually), but the AFC is just one random mess of action; never know who'll show up and play over there.

1 - BTW, anyone who is capable of planning out a 'blues news' football pool for next year can count me in, and I'll help if I can.

Yeah, the Packers will probably win it... We in Atlanta are just happy to be back in the post-season. And happy with the future of Vick... He does play better on grass then on turf, and it gets mighty cold in Blacksburg, VA (Virginia Tech) where he went to school...

yeah, cause they need more games at that rancid ol' vet.

I've never been to a game anywhere but the Vet so I can't really judge. It's great to think that the last game ever played there might be the NFC championship game. People waited in line from Friday night to get tickets this morning.

Still get one home game this weekend - how's Vick in the cold and dark on grass?

My guess is not that great. However, the Packs offense has looked mighty bad for two weeks now. What is Drivers condition? Will he be back for the game?

Despite all that I'd pick the Pack to win it.

I see... good whomping yer jets put on today...

I was a one day Jets fan. Just long enough for them to beat up on GB. There is a Philly connection tho -

Herman Edwards (the Jets coach) was a player for the Eagles during their short stint at the top of the NFC east during the Vermeil era.

I am SO happy that the Packers don't have homefield now.

This is setting up a rematch between the Birds and the Raiders. I only hope that this one turns out better than the last...

I certainly don't want to get into some sort of endless argument, but the question is what constitutes "life" and "murder".

This is certainly a slippery slope. If 'life' can be 'created' and sustained from the moment of 'conception'..

Well, oh boy. I see a lot of people having to think up new arguments to justify their actions.

How does it constitute murder if the mind and intellect of the person stay intact? As long as the data stays undamaged, I don't see what is so wrong from transplanting it from body to body. After all, the body is nothing more than a shell, it's the brain that is the most important.

So after all, we have tasted the flesh of fallen angels with Hitler, Stalin, and Mao; however they committed genocide, more or less. Those were people who were concepted to have conspired against the state, so that would be mass murder, but a cloned shell that has no brain cannot concept for its own. So how is that murder if it is harvested for someone?

Even if his "we'll transplant brains into cloned bodies" yadda yadda would ever work, aren't we talking about MASS murder in such cases? Those bodies won't grow without a brain, and with a brain they are life. So transplanting a brain would to me be murder.

Maybe, maybe not. I certainly don't want to get into some sort of endless argument, but the question is what constitutes "life" and "murder". What if the host bodies were grown with an almost non-functional brain, a brain that could sustain basic functions only. A brain of vegetable intelligence. Even vegans don't have a problem ending the life of a plant, so will there really be a problem?

(just throwing out some ideas to think about...)

The cloning thing, I don't know, it probably isn't all that hard to do concerning we've been making test tube embryo's for awhile already (invitro fertilization and all that).

The biggest issue, ofcourse, is making a HEALTHY clone. Since Claude whateverthehellhisnameis refuses to even address the issue, my hunch is that his "clone" is probably going to be dead in a few months time, at which point I think that whichever country's jurisdiction they fall under should sue them for murder.

Even if his "we'll transplant brains into cloned bodies" yadda yadda would ever work, aren't we talking about MASS murder in such cases? Those bodies won't grow without a brain, and with a brain they are life. So transplanting a brain would to me be murder.

I don't want to watch an NFC championship game in GB. Oh, and I can't believe it but it looks like I'm gonna hate Shockey more than Bavaro. Didn't think that was possible.

You're gonna hate him a LONG TIME unless he gets hurt (U & me both)
It appears to me you're an Eagle fan, and a tribute to the Blue's message board.

Most people forget they announced this project over 2 years ago. They're also recieved a tremendous amount of income from private donations, so it is possible, as they're not constrained with the same scrutiny a domestic agency would be.

Yeah, Shockey can play. He can really play. I just wish he would shut the hell up and play.

Of course I could be wrong... but really, what are the chances of that happening twice?

I started watching this game not really caring who won, I was just hoping to see a good game. Now, seeing how the Giants are playing against both the Eagles and the refs... GO GIANTS!

(sorry Bronco)

All I can say after watching one of the ugliest games I can ever remember is....

J E T S

Jets! Jets! Jets!

I don't want to watch an NFC championship game in GB.

Indeed, that was some pretty rough refereeing... the int in OT was bad, though I don't know if it makes up for the pair of phantom holding calls during regulation.

Shockey's TD was worth the price of admission today... it looked like he started jawing at the DB before he even hit the ground!
