I couldn't get used to any of the camera views, found myself constantly unable to avoid walls.
I'd really dig this game if they had a FP perspective, looks pretty cool, but not when walls is my biggest enemy.

I finished the demo, and wow that was a nice game. I liked it more than Diablo games. However, I think I will wait for my other friends to get the game before I get it. I like to play games with my friends.

If your looking for a great single-player crpg for the love of all that is holy look else where. If on the other hand you enjoy tabletop dnd but are unable to meet the large time commitment then NWN might be up your alley. That is assuming you can get a group of steady players and a dm who knows what he's doing. Even then the ease of roleplaying and socializing is lessened somewhat by the need to type out what you say as opposed to being able to act it out.
Personally I'd give NWN a 5/10 as your enjoyment of the game will depend entirely on the people you play with and the modules you play on. Some people seem to enjoy the Official Campaign, others don't, I myself fall into the latter catagory. Anyway, your best bet for having fun with NWN is playing with friends who already own the game otherwise your enjoyment of the game will be marginal at best.

I'll agree, the game was weak. But the ENGINE is great, and the fan-created content is something to behold -- there are mods out there that really make the thing shine. No, the graphics aren't eye-popping amazing, but who cares when you have good gameplay and near infinite expandability? NWN was never meant to be purely a single player game, it's a toolset, a DMing system, an implementation of D&D and THEN a single player game. Dismissing everything because it's not purdy and shiny is kind of weak.

Are you on crack? That would surely explain your comments, 'It is well worth the price even at $60. This game sucked from beginning to end. Graphics=garbage. It looks like a very early beta at best. The tools is the only thing good about this game. Other than that its a coster as far as I am concerned.

You can probably find NWN for $39 or so now. It is well worth the price even at $60. Not only is the single player game great the multiplayer is awesome. And there are a lot of mods/remakes in the works. A few of the Ultima games and a load of others. Hell, I spent a few weeks toying with my own module... thou I have yet to finish it... I had a blast. I know some people are a bit harsh on the single player story but I feel it's on par with the rest of Biowares wares.

Is the demo any longer than just the prelude? Did I miss something while playing it? For 390 megs it seems awfully short. I can't decide if it would be worth the money.

Dr. Del, have you tried the Lone Wolf modules, yet? I highly recommend them... but they are single player only.

I suspect the Readme included in the demo is actually just the same one that comes with the full game (see the Installation section for example). But the essential part is that the demo contains just the Prelude and "The Prelude is designed as a purely single-player experience." i.e. there's indeed no multiplayer.

Do I assume this demo has no multiplayer support? The readme on 3D Gamers site was a bit confusing.
