Mac Point Release Status

id's Graeme Devine updated his .plan with a further status report on the Mac version of the new Quake III Arena point release, saying with the problems he mentioned yesterday (story) ironed out, the patch is expected today. Here's the skinny:

Mac Point Release 1.32

Worked through the night on the Mac build. All performance issues under 10.2 have been fixed. The final point release will be available today, but while PunkBuster support is final in this client, PunkBuster servers, which are run by Even Balance, need to be updated to allow play.

I like the fact that he said it straight out without beating around the bush that he screwed up. I also like the fact that he worked like a rat bastard fixing the stuff and releasing it promptly like this. Only cool people do stuff like that. Edit: typo This comment was edited on Oct 8, 22:52.

well, I do have a mac, and I really appreciate this guy doing what he does, even if it is his job I only wish I could get a job staying up all night fixing great games.

Man, this guy rocks I dont have a Mac but the fact that he stayed up all night fixing the problem sure says a hell of a lot about his dedication to gamers.
