OK this is really something special. Partiularly the net code. I've never seen a game with this much going on, run this well and with this many players. Sure, there's going to be servers that clearly can't handle the number of players they have set, translating into lag. Calling the game laggy is obsurd - the netcode has to be phenominal do do what this game is doing. I've had several games on several servers last night that were as smooth as glass with 64 players. I mean my God...
Somebody described the gameplay as being bad as both a flight simulator and a first person shooter. Fair enough, it's not a high-fidelity flight simulator - so what? If you want one, go buy one. Personally I like to concentrate on trying to hit shit on the ground, not trying to keep my plane from fucking spinning. It feels good to me and I like it. The different planes have different flight characteristics. The Zeros are nimble and fragile, the TBDs are heavy and tank-like. I mean you have to draw the line someplace.
What this game does really really well is create a full-scale battle which supports teamwork in a very beautiful environment with stunning sounds and graphics. Shoot me, I like it.
Sabotage
I have see the refresh rate drop sometimes after flying (particularly after a flak attack), but then I've always had it go back to normal. I see no evidence that it's hard coded, but obviously there's some issue there that need to be fixed. Normally it's fine for me, and definately withing the 75 to 85 hz range at 1024x768.
