And buddy, the USA didn't take out Saddam because they COULDN'T take out Saddam. President Carter passed a law saying that we could not assassinate the leader of another country. THAT'S why we didn't take him out.
The depleted uranium? Oh, the depleted uranium shells that are fired out of the A-10 Thunderbolt's 10 mm gun - the shells that are widely known? I think they mentioned that. Like I said, that's pretty widely known. |

I agree about the Royal Family, and about Tony Blair. But that doesnt mean that we Brits like it. You see, I never claimed that england was any better than the USA. England has become a cheap, damn knockoff of the usa. What cars are on the road now? Half of them are ford. What restaraunts are there now ? Half of them Are Mcdonalds. The list goes on and on. That is what "capitalism" and "progress" unfortunately end up as when america invades a country. China is probably next. |

...and on that note, I'd just like to say one more thing and I'm done with this thread (unless someone says something that I ABSOLUTELY have to respond to).
I'm not Anti-American. I just wanted everyone to know that there is an alternative to the Republican & Democratic parties that is not controlled by oil corporations. A party that has the best interest of Americans of all nationalities in mind. | SouthEast of Lacrosse. Viroqua sits about 30M southeast of Lacrosse, in Vernon county. I read the Lacrosse tribune on the net every day just to get a little hometown area news. You know, Lacrosse is a nice town, and won a "Mainstreet" town award this year, handed down by congress. They only hand down like 8 a year. Viroqua won it several years back. A little town in Iowa near where I was born has won it as well. I guess I am just a Mainstreet Town type of person. Im gonna move back that way when I get out of college. Its too expensive out here. Heck, my home is a one bedroom tiny one story house (originally a fishing cottage) and I could get 200k for it. |

In my opinion - as small as it is - while the United States is far from perfect, it is the one that seems to be working the best out there. I don't agree with everything our country has done, but at the same time, I'm proud to live here, proud to be an American, and proud to be free.
I don't need anyone preaching to me what my morals should be, though, and that's what got me about this post.

Who are you to tell me what morals I should adhere to? Who is ANYONE to tell me what morals I should adhere to, should teach my children, and should anyone else teach thiers?
If anything - the dictation of morals to the American public by lame-ass well-meaning polititians trying to get votes and ensure thier job security is what's going to cause problems for the United States.

I take a lot of issues with this one. First of all - the US isn't a terrorist state. Yes, some of the tactics are heavy handed, but at the same time - so are some of them that have been performed against us. Anyone remember the USS Liberty? 1967 Iran severly damaged the USS Liberty, killing dozens of crewmen, and both the United States and Iran covered it up - and are still doing so. Would a "terrorist nation" let something like that go?
How much should we take from other countries before we retaliate? And why should we take it? Take Sept 11th as an example. Thousands of American citizens died - civilians - and people like this gentlemen are calling the US a terrorist nation because we retaliated. I think we did a good job of retaliation, minus the flub ups. I mean, hell, we could have turned Afganistan into a glass parking lot if we really wanted to.
I guess my bottom line is that before you start spouting off anti-American sentiment like that, stop and think about it. America is still standing strong, even with her problems. Communist, fascist, and socialist states have all fallen apart, even the might of the USSR has come apart. But the US is still standing strong despite her problems. (I won't even mention anarchists, here, because they have no orginization - it's part of thier nature)
So - to sum it up - sit down, shut up, and think before you post about things. And if it's something you truly believe in, don't hide behind an anonymous post. Stand up and be recognized.
