Out of the Blue

I just saw my poor step-dad off. The reason I'm feeling sorry for him is that he and my mom came for dinner last night, and somewhere between the driveway and the house, their car keys managed to go missing. Now this PapaBlue is not nearly as disorganized as I am, so losing his car keys is quite atypical, but that didn't seem to influence the process of finding them, so they ended up taking the train home which prompted the train trip back up here with the spare key to take the car home. Having a 3000 lb car in your driveway completely non-functioning because of less than an ounce of missing key seems to be a classic example of one of those "for want of a screw" scenarios, and certainly makes me more wary of a similar situation myself. It was never before that I realized the obvious connection between key as a noun, and key as an adjective (duh).

Wouldn't a locksmith have cost the same as the train trip and beenmuch less hassle? Reminds me of the story I recently heard of the lady whos Ford suv had the accelerator stick.. What does she do? burns out her brakes. A policeman pulled in front of her and used his car to stop her.. HELLO??? Why not turn off the key?

I personally enjoy the breaking of the monotony that the ootb brings. These few guys that continually bitch and moan sound like they are Something Awful regulars that can only 'get their jollies' by trying to rain on someone elses' parade. They are only demonstrating that they have NO life, since they are obviously consumed with watchdogging Blue's activities constantly. I bet they get to ride the short bus to school too.

I've locked myself out once or twice (or thrice!). Thankfully, I've now got a wallet key I got from AAA Motor Club. It's a credit card-sized piece of plastic with a key cut into it. Fits nicely into the wallet with no bulge. I've only had to use it once, but it worked great. Unlocked the door and started the ignition. A life saver! (well, embarassment saver, anyway)

how could i forget this one! Work all day...rode to work with a friend...dead tired....friend brings you home....Wife is gone....whooohooooo....gathering stuff to go in house and low and behold you left the house keys hanging on the the rack in the kitchen....Wife? no she wont be home anytime soon...guess you get to crawl thru the attic and unlock the house! And the dogs always have this funny look about them like their ready to bust out laughing LOL

when you are in great need of a hide-a-key magnetic box...I locked myself out of a pontiac 6000...coathangar and 1 hour later i pulled the keys out the ignition and thru the door jamb....LOL Wasnt long after that i put a hide-a-key on everything i have!
